ACTIVITY 1

A. Write three sentences about a person turning eighty.

People say that age is only a number, but it is so much more. Your 80 years are quite
impressive. Simply by living your life, you have taught me numerous lessons.  You've
written a lot of stories in your life, but you're not done yet. Celebrate your 80th birthday
while planning for the next chapter.

B. Write a dialogue between two people who have to share a seat on a plane and
who are attracted to one another. Introduce an obstacle to this smooth sailing
attraction.

JEROME: Good day, Ivy! How are you doing?

IVY : Everything is fine. So, how about you?

JEROME: I'm OK as well. I heard you recently took a plane flight.

IVY : Yes, I flew to South Korea last week.

JEROME: Who did you go to South Korea to see?

IVY : I went to my eldest brother, who works as an engineer in in there.

JEROME: Did your older brother arrange for your flight?

IVY: My older brother did send me an airline ticket.

JEROME: Could you please tell me about your plane ride?

IVY: This is my first flight. As a result, it was full of thrills and excitement.

JEROME: how did you like it?

IVY: To be honest, I was a little nervous at first. But I quickly got over my fear.

JEROME: how did you feel as the plane took off?

IVY : When I peered down from the window, I saw small buildings, people, and trees.
There were clouds everywhere. I wanted to reach out and touch the skies. The roads
and rivers both resembled snakes.

JEROME: Fantastic! Thank you for your detailed explanation.

IVY: Thank you so much.

C. Write about an ugly moment between two people, but don’t label it. Make the
reader experience it without telling them what is going on.

I was once playing basketball with a friend on a barren lot. It had been a hot and
humid day. We were both having a good time playing cricket. Then her mother
appeared, and what she said to him changed my life forever. "You're playing with this
guy whose father can't afford his university fees," she explained. He cannot be your
friend because he is in public school." This sentence altered my life forever.

D. Write about a birthday

Birthdays are a significant occasion for everyone who celebrates them. For starters, it
makes a person feel appreciated when a close relative does something special for them.
Being loved is one of life's most precious experiences.

Second, it helps the individual mature. We all look forward to our birthdays every day
as we grow older and gain maturity with each passing year. Our birthday coincides with
the same occasion. It also assists you in obtaining special benefits.

Following that, birthdays are an eye-opener for many people as they express gratitude.
When you witness so many individuals going out of their way to make you feel unique,
you feel grateful for all that you have.

Birthdays, above all, call for celebration. It is the one day when we can see all of our
loved ones in one spot. Nobody can offer an excuse, and you get to spend time with
everyone you care about all in one place; it's nothing short of wonderful.

E. Write the saddest thing that you know about friendship.

I recently had to say goodbye to a toxic buddy. I was devastated because I

adored her and felt like I was abandoning my sister, but I knew I'd be better off
in the long term. When she asked why I wasn't her friend, I told her it was
because she lied too much. Before this, I told her I wanted to try being friends
again, but she wanted to know how she lied. When I informed her how many
times she lied, she became enraged and placed all of the tension in our friend
group on me. After that, I stopped missing her.

F. Combine three of the stories you have done above, connect and edit to make one story.
You can also add other characters, setting and plots to make it more creative.
Ivy, my best friend, and I met in an airplane in 2010 when I was twenty and had
just come to South Korea. We were both aspiring doctors with big dreams. We
felt an instant connection, which we both mistook for romance. After a brief
flirtation with dating and realizing "uh, nope, totally not," we both agreed that
what we had was special but entirely platonic. We eventually became
inseparable. She was like a second limb to me. We were there for each other
through our achievements, failures, crushes, loves, and heartbreaks. We were
acquainted with one other's families, friends, and significant others. We
witnessed both the best and worst sides of each other, and we were on board
for it all. One thing has always stayed consistent between us: we'll always have
each other's back. It was her grandfather's 80th birthday once. We had a good
time, ate and drank but then her grandfather told me that he did not like me
form the very start. I was so heartbroken and speechless and then I saw her
kissing her first love. I confronted her, and we had a great fight. I'm currently out
of love. I can't stand my girlfriend any longer. The glittering love adventure we
were once on came tumbling down when I began to realize who he truly is. It's
an awful feeling. After years of living alone, experiencing successes and failures
at work, falling in love, losing love, and then meeting 'the one,I've understood
something profound about self-love: no matter how wonderful or horrible
everything around me are going, the most essential factor impacting how I feel
is me.
