EXERCISE 1: SCRIPT-WRITING

Shopping center Mall of Asia is a popular tourist site. It is the Philippines' third-largest
shopping center. Hotels, casinos, office buildings, and the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport are all conveniently located nearby to SM Mall of Asia. Tourists and neighboring
workers can easily visit this commercial center. It displays attractions that go beyond
what a typical retail mall could provide. The SM Mall of Asia, which is a part of the SM
Malls group and occupies thousands of square feet, is situated in Bay City, Pasay,
Manila in the Philippines. It is a shopper's paradise with more than 700 stores from
different brands. Everyone may enjoy the incredible selection of value-added attractions
here, whether they are locals or visitors. One may get a good indication of the
magnitude of this mall by looking at the amusement park, sports and concert stadium,
Olympic-sized ice skating rink, enormous cinema complex, Science Center, and the
variety of stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues that are housed on the mall's
grounds. There are Reddoorz hotels and vacation homes available if one day is not
enough to fully explore this mall. Tourists and even family and friends will undoubtedly
choose this as the ideal meeting location and shopping site all in one because of the
easy access to the breathtaking sunset view of the Manila Bay, theme park, skating
rink, bowling alleys, convention centers, arena etc. Most people who visit the Mall of
Asia want to ride the thrilling attractions at By The Bay Amusement Park. A big Ferris
wheel, a carousel, toy trains, swings, snack stands, rides, and other exciting attractions
are among the amusement park's many exciting features. The bumper vehicles, which
are a favorite among many people, should not be missed here. At the Olympic-sized ice
skating rink inside the mall, visitors are having fun skating on the ice.It is open to guests
of all ages, visitors can go skating on the open ice, take sledge rides, or take skating
lessons .Visitors also watch a game or concert in the Mall of Asia Arena, a sports and
music venue located inside the SM Mall of Asia. For athletic events or concerts, the
20,000-seat arena with the shape of an eye is the perfect venue. The best way to spend
a day trip at Mall of Asia is to take a ride on MOA Yacht, which costs only Php180, and
to the MOA Eye ferris wheel where you can enjoy the view of Manila Bay and the
scenery around the area. With your family and friends, you can spend the evening in the
seaside area's cafés and restaurants, stay there, or take a walk together. The Meat Plus
Cafe, which is situated in the North Entertainment Mall's ground level, serves some of
the best delicacies you must try at the SM Mall of Asia. For real meat aficionados, Meat
Plus is a casual dining establishment you just must visit. For those who enjoy a decent,
large buffet, there is Four Seasons Hotpot City in SM by the Bay. Ippudo is a Japanese
restaurant that provides basic Japanese dishes and is known for its Hakata-style
tonkotsu ramen. It is located in the North Wing on the second floor. In the Mall of Asia,
souvenir shops like Kultura Filipino, where visitors may purchase their souvenirs, are
available. And in SM MOA By The Bay as well. As we are all anticipating everything that
will make us feel renewed, rejuvenated, and refreshed as the summer days approach.
The good news is that there are plenty of cool spots serving frozen desserts, milk, tea,
and smoothies at the SM Mall of Asia Complex. Along with Coco's traditional Panda
Milk Tea, Macao Imperial Tea's cheesecake, and Pearl Milk Tea, Chatime was one of
the first to capitalize on the milk tea craze to hit the Philippines. The ultimate
summertime delight, halo-halo, is made at Razon's by combining layers of sweet and
frosty caramelized banana sauce, rich coconut strings of macapuno jam, cool shaved
ice, sweetened evaporated milk, and slices of creamy leche flan on top. Some of the
reviews from visitors who arrived from the Mall of Asia claimed that they had the best
shopping day in the Philippines. There are managers and supervisors assisting them in
their shopping at the SM supermarket. They were quite competent, excellent, and
helpful. Some people who frequently visited SM Mall of Asia in their free time claimed
that it has good eateries. There are many restaurants there from which people can pick,
and the seaside is a great attraction, especially for the rides for people of all ages.

C. ESSAY
As a senior high school student about to graduate and someone who will be

telling my parents over dinner how excited I am to enroll in my dream university, and

will discuss it with my friends, there will be different communicative strategies, speech

contexts, speech styles, and speech acts between me and the both of them. As in these

situations, there will be differences in the language used, the length of the interaction,

the speaker's relationship to the listener, the speaker's roles and responsibilities, the

message, the speaker's delivery, and the ways in which the speaker will differentiate

between two different instances and contexts.

There are two key contexts in the situation I stated above: my family and friends.

Given the disparities in the communication relationships between the two, the

communication strategy will undoubtedly differ. First are children with their parents, and

then next is the children with their friends. It is evident that when a young person like me

communicates with a family, it is more likely that the family's opinion will have an impact

on the young person's behavior. Meanwhile, when it comes to speaking with friends, we

will be free to choose how we will behave, even though our friends may not agree or

understand. However, this will not be a big concern because your friends will

understand that in the end, it will still be your decision that matters. The objectives of

communication with family and friends differ as well. For example, when speaking with

parents, we must make an effort to analyze and obtain their permission so that they can

fully comprehend the message that their children are trying to convey. Only then will

they be able to support and comprehend the goals and aspirations of their children. On

the other hand, the communication technique with my friends is not that challenging
because all I need to do is share my plans with them and daydream with them. Friends

will find it easy to comprehend what I want to happen because we two typically have

interests and frequently discuss our aspirations in life, so we will typically understand

what we are trying to express. There are significant distinctions between speaking to

friends and family in terms of the context of speech since we should always be

respectful and appreciative of our parents. When speaking to our parents, we should be

extremely careful with our words and tone. As communicators, it is our job to convey our

ideas clearly while also giving listeners the impression that their opinions matter to us.

We must be aware that the actions we take have a significant influence on how our

parents respond to and treat us. The length of the conversation will depend on how your

parents react; if they agree with your choices, it will be a short and easy conversation,

whereas a conversation with friends can last for a long time because it will be enjoyable

to think about the possibilities after I am able to enroll in your dream university. While

with friends, we are more open to different types of opinions; we can exchange

thoughts, explore new horizons, and still stay true to ourselves. It is easier to

communicate with friends because we all know that we are on the same page with

them, we do not feel uncomfortable about letting go of our strong opinions, and we can

use a casual style of communication.

EXERCISE 1: SPEECH WRITING

Sometimes the things that catch our eyes blind us, and we frequently neglect to
consider whether they also catch our hearts. The world is filled with a lot of action.
There appear to be numerous causes for anxiety, panic, and arising worries. We
frequently judge our success by how we appear to the outside world, not just the entire
globe, but in particular, you and your own objectives. Do you have a plan? Did you
achieve your goals for this year? Where is there still a deficiency or absence of anything
you need or want?

The majority of us mistakenly believe that things that captivate our eyes and
those that capture our hearts are the same because they both make us happy, but as
time went on, I came to understand that these two are very different. Have you ever felt
such intense joy that it causes your heart to beat so quickly with excitement and
delight? It is the connection we experience with someone or something without actually
seeing them that causes each of us to feel differently about the things that captivate our
hearts. It is the satisfaction you experience from making a difference, the joy you
receive from following your calling, or both. This proverb from ancient India serves as a
reminder to pursue these goals. And the more we pursue the things that captivate our
hearts, the more our hearts will be filled. In order to avoid seeming like a cat chasing a
set of laser beams, the proverb warns us against chasing everything that is shiny. You
may still need to set priorities among all the things that are competing for your attention,
but at least you can filter out the worst of the bright stuff. Assume we have all
experienced this. When we have something important to us, we let it slip. Our attention
is diverted by anything attractive. We become distracted when it draws our attention.
We lose track of what is important to us when our minds start to wander. It could have
been a romantic relationship or a work opportunity. It may have been a house or a car.
Almost anything may have been the case. But we got sidetracked, lost our
concentration, and lost it. We do look back in time occasionally, but tragically not
frequently enough. In many cases, getting something back might be far more difficult
than getting it in the first place. And the loss is one of the things we are attempting to
avoid by focusing on what is crucial. in particular, the things that have won our hearts.
The physical reality is just an extension of our past ideas and constricting beliefs. These
thoughts and beliefs influence how you act, which is how they shape your environment
and how you see it. Something may not be a part of your reality right now, but that
doesn't mean it won't be tomorrow. Even if a manifestation may seem far off, it could
occur within the next minute. Because your eyes can't see around the bend, you can't
tell whether something is around the corner. The issue is that when we don't see
obvious signs that something will happen, we become afraid and worry that we're doing
it wrong.

Therefore, you can draw the incorrect conclusion that you are in the wrong place
or that what you are doing is not effective. I don't care that you are strategic or have a
bright mind; it's not what will help you now. To get fully clear about where you are in the
path of life, you need to start looking through your heart, not your eyes.. In order to see
with your heart, tell your intellect to stop and close your eyes. Go on a walk, practice
meditation, yoga, or breathing techniques, or simply sit in the sunshine. Make whatever
efforts are necessary to switch from your thinking to your heart. Start searching with
your heart instead of your eyes if you want to fully understand where you are in life. If
something catches our heart, it is something that is worthwhile to pursue. Because, as
the Ancient Indian proverb said, "Certain things catch your eyes, but pursue only those
that capture the heart.".
EXERCISE 2: EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH

If a ship is sinking and there is only one lifeboat available, there are still seven
passengers on board, but the lifeboat can only hold six, and I get to choose which ones
are saved. The first people I would save are a (10)-month-old child, a 65-year-old
woman who is the child's only relative, a pregnant woman suspected of prostitution, a
12-year-old boy with a 140+ IQ, an athlete who supports LGBT rights, and a doctor who,
despite being a drug addict, might discover a treatment for lung cancer. I wll seek for
assistance once I have saved them before returning to the ship to rescue the
captainEven though some of the individuals in the boat are accused of being prostitutes
—young or elderly, men with 140 or higher IQ, or drug addicts—all of their lives matter,
including the captain of the ship. A pregnant woman who is suspected of being a
prostitute does not automatically forfeit her right to a second chance at life. Everyone
who chooses to work as a prostitute does so for a variety of reasons. And because she
is pregnant, that means that both of them deserve to survive because they are both
alive in her body. Even if the doctor may be a drug addict, if he can discover a cure for
lung cancer, he will be able to help many individuals who are suffering from the disease.
The lives of the other passengers are likewise important. As opposed to the captain, not
all of them can swim and know how to swim. People who are unable to swim and who
are dependent on others for care are typically the ones I would try to save first. Given
his familiarity in such circumstances, the captain stands a strong chance of surviving.
His survival percentage is higher than others since he was able to study what to do in
an emergency.

EXERCISE 3: ENTERTAINMENT SPEECH

In our dim home once upon a time. At first, the breeze was soft yet cool. The "Roar" of
thunder appeared out of nowhere, immediately followed by bright lightning flashes that
illuminated the pitch-black night sky. It is pouring like crazy.

It was already late at night, twelve in the morning, when the alarm started to ring,
scaring me. The most terrifying part was that I was by myself at home because my
parents and siblings had left to see my grandparents in Bulacan. Although I am a
coward, I decided to stay at home and study since my exam was approaching. After
spending the entire day and night studying hard, I was updating my Facebook as usual.
The message "Google Chrome is not responding" continued flashing. After a huge
thunderclap, I then noticed that the internet connection had been lost. I turned off my
phone to prevent it from being struck by lightning.

After that, I left the study area as quickly as lightning without turning around to face my
bedroom. I protested by leaping onto my bed. I was startled as the door suddenly shut
loudly with the wind. I sat down on my bed to take a nap, but after further thunder, the
light abruptly went out. The rain turned into large, heavy droplets that pounded the roof
like bullets. Fortunately, I had my phone with me. At that time, my phone served as my
spirit. My heart began to pound in fear. “DUGGUG DUGUGUG”. I took out my phone
and pressed the app icon for the flashlight.

The flashlight was on at the time, and I noticed a shadow in the bedroom wearing a
white shirt but lacking a head and limbs. I shrieked, louder than the thunder and rain,
"Ghost arghhh!!! Oh my God!" I pleaded with God, "God, please assist me; I pledge to
be good after this." My school uniform that had previously been hung on the wardrobe
was the "ghost" that I had not noticed when I glanced out of dread. I cried out in relief,
"Thank God!," yet I'm still terrified. I didn't look away from my phone as I continued to
play with it to avoid thinking about scary things. “No one has ever demonstrated the
existence of ghosts or evil on Earth.” I talked myself to avoid being scared.

EXERCISE 4: INFORMATIVE SPEECH

One of the most important changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic was the
demand for remote learning in order to safeguard the safety of the school community,
including students, instructors, and staff. The good news is that more schools have
reopened and are now offering face-to-face learning as fewer cases are being reported
across the country. Such news can be both exhilarating and unsettling for students.
Being back in a physical classroom and learning with your friends and classmates after
two years of only modules and video conferences can take some getting used to, much
like the online learning arrangement.
First, think about getting ready for the first day of class and what to do thereafter. We
must absorb and adhere to protocols. It's crucial to keep in mind that the pandemic and
its hazards are still very much present even though Metro Manila and a number of other
cities and provinces consider our situation as the new normal. When you follow social
distancing and masking protocols while on campus and while traveling to and from
school, you not only increase your own safety but also the protection of your
classmates, professors, and family. Additionally, if local health regulations change, it is
vital to be informed. Second, double-check the necessities. It's time to pull out your
trusty school backpack once more. Make sure you have everything you need for class
before you return to prevent any inconveniences. There may be things that you ignore
during the course of two years of home learning. This holds true for your school's dress
code and uniform policy as well. Of course, keep extra face masks and hand sanitizer
on hand, as well as your immunization card, with you at all times. Make sure your body
is prepared for the significant changes in your everyday routine now that you must go to
your classes. Since the pandemic is still ongoing, it's critical to strengthen your immune
system by maintaining hydration, eating a good diet, engaging in regular exercise, and
getting enough sleep at night. It can be quite difficult to adjust to changes in your
environment, interactions, and habits as face-to-face classes become more prevalent
across the nation. When you're experiencing anxiety about returning to university, take
some time to center yourself and recommit to your objectives. Writing down your ideas
and speaking with your peers can both be beneficial. To study effectively and to be
productive, keep in mind that a healthy, happy mind is essential. Nothing really
compares to taking classes in person for the majority of people. Students were eager to
look back on their enjoyable classroom experiences on social media sites like Tiktok
and Twitter as the transition to online instruction started.

It is indeed time to make the most of the chance to study with your friends and
speak with your lecturers in person now that it's returned. Be more engaged and active
in class on your first day, participate in activities that suit your interests, and take
pleasure in the remainder of your time as a student!

EXERCISE 5: PERSUASIVE SPEECH

Bulacan already has a lot of cities that are developed, but it's fortunate that the
province was able to conserve and preserve its stunning qualities. It has stunning
dwellings, caves, rivers, waterfalls, and even towering mountains that are ideal for
hiking. For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Bulacan is undoubtedly a refuge.
Bulacan is renowned for having a large number of historically significant sites that were
crucial to the independence of our nation. Bulacan also offers a huge number of
luxurious resorts and waterparks that Filipinos like, especially in the summer!

Barasoain Church, which is the most well-known church in Bulacan, is one of the
many options for sightseeing in this province. This church, also known as the Our Lady
of Mount Carmel Parish, was built in 1888 during the Spanish Colonial Era; as a result,
it has a Baroque architecture design, which is quite typical of churches created in our
nation under the reign of Spain. Due to its role in hosting some of the most important
events in the history of the Philippines, including the first meeting of the Philippine
Congress, Barasoain Church is regarded as the most significant religious structure in
the country. Today, the Barasoain Church reminds every Filipino of how much our
ancestors cared for and defended our nation from foreign invaders in addition to its role
as a place of worship. The Biak-Na-Bato National Park is the next tourist destination
nearby. Another must-see tourist attraction in Bulacan is San Miguel, which is in the
province. This protected area spans a sizable 2,100 hectares and is home to numerous
natural landmarks, including forests, river networks, waterfalls, mountains, and a
profusion of caves. It's true that Biak-Na-Bato is the ideal location for everyone who
enjoys being outside. There are even multiple hanging bridges and staircases
connecting rivers and caves, which were added to tempt adventurers out of everyone.
Those of you who enjoy hiking and mountaineering should get ready because you are in
for a treat! One of the most popular and essential hiking locations in the nation is Mt.
Maranat. Its thrilling and difficult trails will increase your love for it. It is stated that
Rodrigues, Rizal, is the starting place for exploring Mt. Maranat, even though it is
technically part of Bulacan. So remember that! San Miguel, Bulacan, is home to yet
another must-see location for hikers everywhere. At 196 meters above sea level, Mt.
Gola is readily walked in conjunction with its sibling mountain, Mt. Manalmon in a half-
day. Because of this, hikers typically opt for the two-day route that allows them to
ascend both mountains. There are numerous other tourist attractions in Bulacan that are
worth visiting, including Kaytitinga Falls, Mt. Manalmon, Secret Falls, Tila Pilon Hills,
Talon Paris Falls, Kabayunan View Deck, Ipo Dam View Deck, Verdivia Falls, etc.

Why are you holding out? If you wish to appreciate Bulacan's natural beauty with your
family, friends, and yourself. Come and discover Bulacan's breathtaking locations!
