BATTLE OF ACOUSTICS

GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:s

A. Each year level must have two (2) entry. There can be no more than two entry per year level.
B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022 and must submit
their title of their chosen song to the organizers on September 16, 2022.

C. Members of the Calayan Minstrels are prohibited from joining this competition as the lead vocalist
and/or second vocalist.

CONTEST MECHANICS
1. Entries must consist of two (2) to five (5) members. The members are allowed to have a minimum
of one (1) singer and minimum of one (1) intrumentalist.

2. Members are required to sing one (1) Original Pinoy Music (OPM) in Tagalog and one (1) english
song (international or OPM) in any of the following context: love songs, sentimental songs, or
alternative.

3. The organizers will ensure that the chosen songs of each participant will be confidential.

4. Each group are required to bring their own musical instruments.

5. The groups are given a total of 5-6 minutes to perform. Beyond this limit, a total of 5 points will be
deducted from the group’s total score for every minute exceeded.

6. The contestants are allowed to wear any style of clothing but they have to keep in mind the decency
of their chosen clothing style.

7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. Three of the best performers will be
awarded. The winners will be given a trophy and cash prize.

MODERN DANCE COMPETITION

GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:

A. Each year level must have only one (1) entry. There can be no more than 1 entry per year level.
B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022 and must
submit their title of their chosen song to the organizers on September 16, 2022.

CONTEST MECHANICS
1. Each group will perform a dance number with a time limit of 3 – 4 minutes. Beyond this limit, a total
of 5 points will be deducted from the group’s total score for every minute exceeded.

2. The organizers will ensure that the chosen songs of each participant will be confidential.
3. The group must at least have a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of twelve (12) members. The
members of the group can be all male or female or any combinations.

4. Folk dance or any accompaniment of folk music is not allowed. The use of any pyrotechnic gadgets,
a smoke or combustible materials as props is not allowed.

5. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. Three winners will be declared (3rd place
2nd place and Champion). The winners will be awarded with trophy, cash prize, and certificates.

EXHIBIT COMPETITION
GENERAL RULES AND CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. Each section of the department must have an entry on the said contest.
2. The participants of each entry must be composed of medical technology students of CEFI.
3. The presidents of each section will draw the topic for the exhibit. (TBA)
4. All exhibits must be based upon their assigned subjects namely:
Medical Laboratory Science 1st year
Anatomy and Physiology 1st year
(nervous, reproductive, respiratory, lymphatic, and endocrine systems)

Anatomy and Physiology 1st year


(skeletal, muscular, excretory, digestive, and cardiovascular systems)

Inorganic and Organic Chemistry 1st year


Biochemistry 2nd year
Epidemiology 2nd year
Cytogenetics 2nd year
Hematology 3rd year

5. Each entry must have one (1) to three (3) oral presentor/s who will explain the content of their exhibit.
6. The exhibit’s area must only occupy the designated range of area.

SING-RYNGE COMPETITION
GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:

A. Each section must only have one (1) entry. There can be no more than one entry per section.

B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022 and must submit
their title of their chosen song to the organizers on September 16, 2022.

C. Members of the Calayan Minstrels are prohibited from joining this competition.

CONTEST MECHANICS

1. The candidates will have a song number with a time limit of 3 – 4 minutes. Beyond this limit, a total
of 5 points will be deducted from the singer’s total score for every minute exceeded.

2. They may sing songs of any genre.

3. The organizers will ensure that the chosen songs of each participant will be confidential.

4. Any accompaniment of music instrument is not allowed. The singers are not allowed to sing a
cappella.

5. The use of any pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible materials as props is not allowed.

6. The contestants are allowed to wear any style of clothing but they have to keep in mind the decency
of their chosen clothing style.

7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

8. Three winners will be declared (1ST, 2nd, and 3rd Place) and will be awarded with medal, cash prize and

MR. AND MS. MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY 2022


GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY
A. This competition is open to all Medical Technology students in CEFI. Each section must have one
(1) PAIR as their entry. There can be no more than one entry per section.

B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022.

C. The mechanics and criteria for judging will be announced a few minutes before the start of the
competition.

CONTEST MECHANICS:
1. There will be four (6) categories for this competition: casual attire, school uniform category,
creative wear category, formal category, talent category, and question & answer portion.

2. The candidates will come in pairs so in every category, they are encouraged to have matching
outfits or ensemble.

3. For the 1st category (Talent), the candidates form each section are required to do their
talent in pairs. The talent competition can showcase any of their talent/s but the
performances are required to have social relevance (political, environmental, or any
relevant social issue). The use of any pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible
materials as props is not allowed. For the talent competition, there will be an award for
Best In Talent. They will be judged by the following criteria:

4. For the 2nd category (Production Number), the theme for the production number is in line
with the silver anniversary of the Medical Technology Week of CEFI. For female
candidates, they will wear a silvery dress paired with heels. Male candidates will wear an
all-white outfit and shoes (black, white, or brown). They will be judged by the following
criteria:

5. For the 3rd category (Casual Wear), the theme for the casual wear is SMART CASUAL. The
candidates are not required to buy new outfits. They will be judged by the following

6. For the 4th category (uniform) the candidates are required to model and wear proper
uniform (black shoes are required), I. D./name plate and any choice of school prop/s but
make sure that it will be appropriate and will not be the focus of the candidates’
ensemble. The candidates will be judged by the following criteria:

7. For the 5th category (formal), the candidates are required to model and wear a formal
attire by the fashion designer, North Ortiz. The candidates for Mr. and Ms. Medical
Technology 2022 are required to wear long gown (female) and a suit and tie (male). The
candidates will be judged by the following criteria:

8. For the 6th category (Creative Wear), the candidates are required to model and wear a
Recycled Creative Attire.

• The candidates for Mr and Ms. Medical Technology 2022 are required to wear
garment/s made up of recycled materials inspired by anything related to the
medical technology profession.
• The candidates are not required to wear gowns or suits for their creative wear.
They can model any type of garment, but make sure that it is durable enough to
wear on stage.
• They will provide an “environmental factoid” that connects with your fashion and
a description about the candidate’s outfit they are trying to portray and it will be
read on stage (i.e., Angie’s dress is made of 138 sheets of paper. In the U.S., we
throw away 4.5 million tons of office paper each year).
• They are required to keep in mind the decency of their attire.
• The garment must be made of 75% reused and recycled materials. Some
Examples:
i. Food packaging and wrappers
ii. Soda pop tops or cans
iii. Plastic or paper bags
iv. Container lids of all shapes and sizes
v. Cardboard, paper, newspaper, or magazines
vi. Plastic Bottles.
• Make sure that your garment is safe… NO sharp edges (cut aluminum cans,
staples, wire, etc.)
• May use tape, glue, staples, and thread. We won’t count against you if you use
them, but use them in moderation.
• The candidates will be judged by the following criteria:

10. For the 6th category (question and answer), the candidates will be asked questions in line
with our celebration and our desired profession. They will each have thirty (30) seconds
to answer the questions.

There will be two sets of Question and Answer portion.

First round:
• There will be a Question and Answer portion where all the candidates will be
asked.
• From 12 male and female candidates, the top 3 will be determined.
Second round:
• The top 3 candidates will be asked another set of question.
• From there, the candidates’ scores will go back to zero as they will be solely judged
through their answers at the final Q and A round. Their answers will be judged by
the following criteria:

12. Sashes and cash prizes will be awarded. Special awards and major awards will be
announced on the day of the competition.

with a sash, certificate, flowers, and cash prize.

POSTER MAKING

GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:

A. Each section must have one (1) entry. There can be no more than one entry per section.
B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022.

CONTEST MECHANICS
1. Each contestant must bring their own art materials. ¼ illustration boards are provided for each
contestants.

2. Contestants will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish their posters.

3. The poster must be centered to the MedTech Week Celebration theme: “Transcendre: The
Continuing Legacy of Medical Technology with Service and Integrity Looking Through the Lens of
the Silver-Lining”

4. Competition for the poster making contest will be held before September 29, 2022. Announcement
of date, time, and room assignment are to be announced.

5. Posters will be displayed and judged on September 29, 2022 at SM City Lucena Event Center.

6. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. Three of the best poster will be awarded.
The winners will be given a medal, cash prize, and certificate.

PHOTO ESSAY

GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:

A. Each section must have one (1) entry. There can be no more than one entry per section.
B. The participants must fill out the registration form on or before September 8, 2022.

CONTEST MECHANICS
1. Each contestant must have their own camera either phone camera or digital camera.

2. The competition will take place in MT LAB 2 under the supervision of one faculty from the College of
Medical Technology.

3. Each contestants will enter one by one in the laboratory and will be given 10 minutes each to
photograph.

4. A student model, tackle box, and PPE are available inside the laboratory.

5. After 10 minutes, the contestant will be given 20 minutes to finish their essay outside the laboratory.
Essay must be written in English with a minimum of 8 and maximum of 12 sentences.

6. Each contestants must submit their photograph photo on the day of the competition.
Manipulation/editing is allowed but limited to minor adjustments only (cropping, exposure level
adjustment, saturation, and color balance)

7. The photo essay must be centered to the MedTech Week Celebration theme: “Transcendre: The
Continuing Legacy of Medical Technology with Service and Integrity Looking Through the Lens of
the Silver-Lining”

8. Competition for the photo essay contest will be held before September 29, 2022. Announcement of
date, time, and room assignment are to be announced.

9. Photo essays will be displayed and judged on September 29, 2022 at SM City Lucena Event Center.

10. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. Three of the best photo essay will be
awarded. The winners will be given a medal, cash prize, and certificate.

MS. Q AND A
GENERAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY:
A. Each section must have one (1) candidate for the pageant. There can be no more than one candidate
per section.

B. The candidates, upon the endorsement of their sections must fill in the official entry form on or
before September 8, 2022.

CONTEST MECHANICS:
1. The pageant is open for gay , transgender, queer or straight cis-man candidates who wants to show
off their intelligence and wit to answer a question.

2. The candidates must prepare a Gown or Suit ( in any desired color)

3. Curse words are prohibited. A deduction will be fined for every curse words.

4. The Miss Q and A pageant is divided into 3 Rounds

Introduction:

• The candidates will enter to the stage one by one while the host gives a short background about
the candidates.
• The candidates must introduce themselves creatively stating their name, year, and section,
motto.

1st Round:

• The candidates will answer Trivia Questions.


• The First candidate to press the button will answer the question;
• And If the candidate failed to answer the question, the other of the candidates can steal and
answer.
• The First Five (5) candidates to answer correctly will advance to the next round.

2nd Round

• In this round the candidates will be challenged through their wits and public speaking.
• The candidates will be given 1 minute to give their speech about the Theme “Transcendre: The
Continuing Legacy of Medical technology with service and Integrity Looking through the Lens of
the Silver-lining”.
• Every minute crossing the allotted time is equivalent to two points deduction.
• The 2 candidates who showed and gave the impactful speech will advance to the final question
and answer round.
