The theory of everything (2014) is a story about Stephen Hawking, who is the best physicist of our time. It is a film by James Marsh and it is a biographical story, based on Traveling to Infinitive: My life with Stephen by Jane Hawking who was the first wife of this physicist. The story starts at the University of Cambridge in the 1960s, and it shows how a shy boy becomes the greatest physicist at an early age, while we knows about the love story with his wife and the health problems that he had, because his illness was Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and this made him lose his movements and speech, but this never made him stop astonishing with his intelligence and the way he saw the universe. I think that it was the most shocking event in the film because when he had his first fall from not being able to move well, it generated a suspense and a shocking moment that I really felt it. However, this was not an impediment either for Stephen to marry Jane and have a family, while he continues to study. Later, Jane decides to hire a pianist to teach one of her children and she begins to fall in love with him. This love was impossible at first but later Stephen accepted it, because he also decided to marry another woman, who was his nurse, and for that reason Stephen and Jane separated. While all this is happening, Stephen manages to make his book "a brief history of time" and contributes great things about the origin of the universe, black holes, and the basic laws that govern the universe. All these contributions gave him numerous medals, recognitions and awards as a teacher, and as a member of astronomical, science, physics, arts, and mathematics societies, among others. The film received positive reviews, because the production, the cast and the story was awesome and a perfect drama-romantic film. Therefore, the casting was full of good actors and actresses, like Eddie Redmayse (as Stephen), Felicity Jones (as Jane), Charlie Cox (as Jonathan), David Thewlis, Simon McBurney, Emily Watson and more excellent people. And that is why the film won the Oscars in various categories such as best film, best actor, best actress, best script and best soundtrack; and other awards such as the Satellite, the film actors union, the Golden Globe and many other recognitions. For that reason, I think that my favorite character in the film is Stephen because his illness made him a strong person and he could improve himself, even though they only gave him 2 years to live, and for that reason I think that is a perfect example about personal growth. That is why this excellent film is aimed at all people because it teaches you to reflect and think that with or without physical limitations, you can have ideas that change the world and to be kind with other people who are going through this and if you can, help them with a advise or physical help because we don’t know if he or she needs us. Fortunately, despite the fact that Stephen had this disease, technology allowed him to share his thoughts and ideas and thus he was able to express them to the world and that is an important point because maybe, if he had been born in a previous era, without this technology it would have been impossible for him to express himself. Furthermore, this film shows us the way in which a human being manages to overcome his physical limitations and the importance of being accompanied because without his wife, Stephen would not have been able to move on.
