Who Are We
 Techonheels It is a nonprofit organization which came into existence with the sole aim of providing
affordable and judgment-free opportunities for women all over Maryland interested in stepping into the
world of IT. Through in-person classes along with immense community support, Techonheels wants to help
women belonging to diverse backgrounds achieve the tech goals they have set for themselves. We at
Techonheels also build confidence, not only in their careers but also in their day to day lives.
Through networking opportunities, webinars, partner events, career services, conferences and mentoring,
Techonheels strengthens the participants’ professional capacity, increases the mutual understanding
between key networks of professionals and also helps to enhance and expand the girls’ interest in IT careers
by exposing them to female role models.

Technology Is Changing the World As We Know It

Technology careers are lucrative, and computing skills are in demand
By 2026, 3.5 million computing-related job openings are expected. At the current rate, only 17% of these
jobs could be filled by U.S. computing bachelor’s degree recipients.

Diversity in Computing Is Lacking

Women are basically "absent" from technology innovation
In 2017, only 26% of the entire computing workforce were women. In the coming years, we aim to change
this to at least 50%.

Change Leadership is Vital

Ineffective strategic leadership allows underrepresentation in computing to persist
Isolated efforts are definitely not enough for continuous change. Organizations all over the globe must take
a comprehensive, systemic approach to increase gender diversity.

Our vision at Techonheels is to develop a strong network of empowered women, who are confident in their
innate abilities to venture into the world of technological development. By teaching several IT skills to
women from all over the state of Maryland belonging from diverse backgrounds, we can help improve their
careers and boost their confidence to perform exceptionally well in their day to day lives.
 Our Mission
At Techonheels we envision a future where women who imagine and build technology mirror the societies
for whom they build it. We hope to connect, inspire, and guide women in computing and companies which
view technology innovation as a strategic imperative. Our social initiative supports women belonging to
technical fields, along with organizations that employ them and academic institutes which are training the
next generation.

About Us
In 2017, we started Techonheels, a non-profit organization, to bring together multitalented women breaking
new grounds in technology to transform the technological world and inspire change. We have been highly
inspired by the rise of women in tech organizations who are working hard to change the ratio and have been
firm advocated of women charging forward in today’s highly digitalized a technologically advanced world. A
massive 90% of investor money all over the globe goes to startups which have been founded by men.
To help address this colossal problem, Techonheels aims to empower women. There are hundreds of women
out there who have all the right ideas, have products which can effectively solve the problems we are facing
right now and can change the world we live in. by providing the much needed technological guidance and
advice, women can scale and be successful in the modern tech-savvy industry.
Generating economic opportunities is one of the most effectual manners through which we could catalyze
social change, and focusing on women is a smart idea because women reinvest 90% of their overall income
back to their families as well as communities. To build a new economy which focuses on gender equality, we
at Techonheels envision a future where women strengthen communities by developing businesses and thrive
in their careers with livable wages and several career advancement opportunities.

magnificently contributing to both the design and development of innovative
products and services designed for the digital age. We envision a future where
women inspire our future generation to engage with technology in a manner which

We are extremely committed to ensuring that women belonging to all races, educational backgrounds,
incomes, and upbringing can have confidence in their respective skill set to walk with confidence to any tech
related organization. Our sole goal is to offer powerful hands-on programs built specifically to guide women
seeking professional help in various different technological aspects.
Our Mission is to connect women in Maryland with the STEM industry. We inspire and support the
educational and professional development of women all over Maryland from classroom to boardroom, by
facilitating access to international knowledge, programs, mentoring, networking and career opportunities.
