Detailed Lesson Plan in Science

For Grade 4

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:
A. Identify the different bones that protect the internal organs
B. Describe the function of protective bones
C. Appreciate the simple way to make our bones strong through Q and A

What would we look like if we have no bones in
our body?
What parts of your body do you use in doing
different actions like Clapping, standing,
bending and others?

What to do:
1.Slide the palm of your hand from your
forehead and down just above the back of your
neck.
2. Inhale deeply and touch your bones in your
chest.
3. Have a classmate stand straight. Feel the
bones in the middle of his/he back. Press Gently
the bones at the back. Let him/ her bend and
backward, to the left and to the right
4. Put your hands around your waist and feel the
bones of your hips
( Show a pictures with jumbled letters to the
pupils using the powerpoint presentation for
them to identify the protective bones .)

ANALYSIS AND ABSTRACTION Show the pictures of skull, ribcage, spinal


column, and pelvic bone.

What is the function of skull?
How about the ribcage?

What is the function of the spinal column?

How about pelvic bone?

(Give praises through different claps)

Exploration (Pupils sing a song about the rules before doing


their group activity)

kinds of bones)
GROUP 2( Color the corresponding bones in a
given statement)
GROUP 3( Paste the skeleton if the statement is
correct and mark it x if the statement is

Let the pupil posts their work on the board and a


representative of each group discuss their work
in front of the class.)

After the representative discussed their work let


the pupils raise the sad and happy face for the
peer group rate.
