4. In Negros Oriental, there are farms.

Location

The planned project poultry farm will be situated in Ms. Buhanghang’s

property, which is situated in the Upper Maningcao,Sibulan,Negros Oriental. The

property's lot is 170000 square meter wide, or 17 hectares. The main objective, the

public market, and sari-sari stores, in and around the municipality of Sibulan are the

company's primary markets.

Since Ms. Buhanghang's family already owns the business when it is

established, the preferred location of the farm was picked due to the potential for

cheaper project expenses. Moreover, the said consequently, only 5 hectares of land

are needed to construct a small-scale poultry farm in that region. The business will

utilize the owned lot. Approximately 700 meters separate the location from the
residential neighborhood is suitable for establishing a small chicken farm, and it has

future deliveries will use an access road.

proprietorship, the financial investment will concentrate on the fundamental

necessities required in production processes, such as the Ready to Lay Chickens,

worker salaries earnings, company registrations, materials and gear.

Project Summary

Market Study

Chicken eggs are the end result of the proposed project. The intended market

consists of small-scale company owners in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, who sell and use

eggs in their activities. The price of small eggs is (P185 per tray), Medium eggs

(P205per tray), Large eggs (P215per tray) and Extra-large is (P225per tray). In the

following five years, both supply and demand are expected to expand annually.

Demand is expected to expand at a pace of 1.5%, and supply is expected to grow at a

faster rate of 1.5%. According to the demand and supply gap research, the company's
market shares grew by five (5) percent annually. The poultry farm has the capacity to

meet the remaining demand—the anticipated sales—by stepping in where needed.

INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Background of the study

The Philippines' record for chicken egg production has risen as a result of the

swine farmers' shift to the lucrative possibility of egg production in 2020. Even those

who have a lot of property and wish to make money from it can raise chickens and

start an egg farm, but only with certain restrictions and exclusions.

A company called Eggs-Travagant produces chicken eggs with the intention

of giving its clients eggs of the highest caliber. Eggs-Travagant, a stress-free and

human-nature friendly poultry farm, it is well suited to use these two highly suggested

and approved top options as the source of eggs in the Philippines.

Due of the high-quality environment found in Barangay Maningcao's

hinterland, business will therefore thrive in the Sibulan, Negros Oriental region.

Eggs-Travagant's goal is to satisfy egg consumption among its target market, which

consists of small enterprises like public market and sari-sari store that either resell

eggs or utilize them as an ingredient. The manufacturing of chicken eggs at the owner

of Eggs-Travagant wants to make his family's land profitable as their financial

investment, which is why egg production there was recommended.

Statement of the problem

• To be able to decide whether the investigation is feasible or not.

• To be able to assess the viability of the company from a marketing perspective

of view.

• To be able to establish whether the company is viable from a technical point

view.

• To be able to judge whether the company is feasible from a management

perspective of view.

• To be able to assess the company's viability from a financial perspective view.

• To be able to determine whether a business is economically and socially

viable.

• To be able to determine whether or not to pursue this business in the near

future.

Scope and limitations of the study

The aspect of this project study will be focused on is Dekalb hens' egg

production. The proposed project chicken farm would be situated on land owned by

Ms. Buhanghang’s family in the Sibulan Negros Oriental barangay of Maningcao.

The five (5) main components of a feasibility study—management, marketing,

technical, financial, and socioeconomic aspects—will be the focus of this study.

The opinions of the 30 respondents will form the basis of this study. The

validity of the data gathered from this survey questionnaire will be the only basis

upon which the researchers will depend. The readers are cautioned to interpret the

study's potential results with care in light of these limitations.

Methodology

The primary methodology used by the proponents to collect data was the

survey method. Using a survey method, researchers can ask a specified group of

people questions to gather data for the research. It typically encourages

communication between research subjects and the individual or group conducting the

study.

A survey questionnaire was utilized as the instrument for this study's data

collection. The first section of the questionnaire is dedicated to the respondents'

profiles. The second section's goal is information gathering a requirement for demand

analysis.

In order to collect the data, the researchers used a self-made research survey

questionnaire. To collect information, only one survey instrument is given to each

respondent.

With the use of statistical software, pertinent statistical procedures were

applied to the data analysis. The frequency distribution was used in particular for the

numerical analysis of the respondent profiles and their opinions on purchasing eggs

from a chicken farm. Additionally, the respondents' impressions of purchasing eggs

from a chicken farm were examined using the weighted mean.

Operational Definition of Terms

Compound Interest Formula. Compound interest is calculated using the formula P

(1 + r/n)(nt), where P represents the starting principal balance, r represents the interest
rate, n represents the number of times interest is compounded each time period, and t

represents the total number of time periods.

Egg. The hard-shelled reproductive organ produced by birds, and particularly by the

typical domestic chicken.

Egg Tray. A typically square paperboard tray used to retain and safeguard eggs in a

shipment carton or crate.

Egg Production. The quantity of eggs produced by chickens over a certain timeframe

(a month, year, and so on).

Extra Large Eggs. Similar to large eggs in frequency. It measures 63 to 70 grams.

massive eggs Larger-bodied hen breeds typically produce jumbo eggs, which are the

greatest weight class. It is over 70 grams in weight.

Large Eggs. Hens in the height of their laying days typically lay large eggs. It has a

mass of 49–56 grams.

Medium Eggs. Medium eggs have somewhat thicker shells than large eggs, making

them a great choice for hard boiling.

Poultry. Domesticated birds kept by humans for their eggs, meat, or feathers are

known as poultry.

Poultry Farm. An establishment where domestic poultry, especially chickens, are

raised for their eggs or meat.

Small Eggs. Small eggs measure approximately 18 ounces per dozen, or 1.5 ounces

per egg, and they only come from young hens in the first few months of their laying

capabilities.
Small-scale Business. Small-scale business is defined as a privately-owned

corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship that has fewer employees and less

annual revenue than a corporation or regular-sized business.

Survey Method. A survey method is a procedure, instrument, or technique you might

use to interview a predetermined group of people in order to collect data for your

project. The unfertilized egg. An unfertilized egg only has the genetic makeup of the

hen; hence a chick cannot develop from it.

Unfertilized Egg. An unfertilized egg only has the genetic makeup of the hen; hence

a chick cannot develop from it.

MARKETING ASPECT
Demand

The survey that was done to ascertain the level of demand for the proposed

business is summarized in this section.

In Sibulan, Negros Oriental, there are numerous small companies where

chicken eggs are the primary source of income and the primary ingredient in

particular meals and pastries. The need for their fundamental necessities and services

from other businesses has increased every year in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, due to the

growing rate of small-scale business establishment there, therefore they are not spared

from this expanding demand, just like those small-scale enterprises that require

chicken eggs. The survey's scope aim was small-business owners and sellers like

those of sari-sari shops and the egg stalls in the public market.

PROJECTED DEMAND

The target market's projected demand for the production of chicken eggs is

provided in this section. The computed five (5) years estimated Volume of Chicken

Eggs is shown in the table below based on the estimated demand growth rate.

Table 13, on the next page shows the projected total demand for chicken eggs

in Negros Oriental. Given the estimated constant growth rate for the future years of

4.92℅, the above table shows that there is an increase in demand year by year.

Table 13

2027 480.13
* Projected based on the growth rate of 1.68% annually.
*Estimated based on the annual per capita consumption of 4.92 kg.

To be able to calculate the projected demand, the researchers use the

Compound Interest formula to identify each year's demand. D is for the initial starting

demand value that is to be multiplied by the quantity of 1 added by i or r (constant

growth rate) over y (number of years). The initial starting demand value (P) comes

from the 2022 Demand Value Data which is 316.57 metric tons, according to the

Philippine Statistics Office - Chicken Situation Report 2022. The computation of the

Projected Demand can be found in Appendix D.

SUPPLY

In this section, the supply of chicken eggs for the planned business is

summarized and anticipated data is shown. Based on the information in Table 16, it is

possible to determine the current supply of chicken eggs for all small-scale businesses

in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Table 14 reveals that four (4) respondents (13.33%) typically purchase eggs

from a direct supplier, compared to two (2) respondents (6.67%) who typically

purchase eggs from a poultry farm. 16 respondents, or (53.33%), are from

wholesalers, while eight (8) respondents, or (26.67%), and no one often get eggs from

a supermarket or sari-sari store.

According to this finding, the majority of respondents typically purchase their

products straight from wholesalers.

PROJECTED SUPPLY

This section provides the projected supply data of chicken eggs in Sibulan,

Negros Oriental. Given the estimated annual growth supply rate in chicken eggs,

stated below is the table of the computed five (5) years of estimated supply of chicken

eggs in Negros Oriental.

Table 15 shows the projected supply of chicken eggs in Sibulan, Negros

Oriental. Given the estimated growth supply rate of 4.92%, it indicates that there is an

increase in the supply of chicken eggs in Negros Oriental.

2026 30.96
2027 33.65
*Estimated based on the result of the survey.

To calculate the Projected Supply, the researchers use the formula of

Compound Interest just like in Projected Demand as a basis for identifying each

year's demand. S is for the initial starting supply value of the competitors that are to

be multiplied by the quantity of 1 added by i or r (constant growth rate) over y

(number of years). The initial starting supply value (D) comes from the 2022 quarter

supply production in Sibulan which is 26.21 metric tons. The computation of the

Projected Supply can be found in Appendix D.

Demand and Supply Gap Analysis

Table 16 shows the gap between the projected demand and the supply of

chicken egg production in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. To be able to identify the gap

analysis, subtracting the respective years in projected demand from the projected

supply is performed. Table 16 indicates that the gap between the Projected Demand to

the Projected Supply creates a high potential for this proposed business to compete

with competitors in producing Chicken Eggs so that they will meet the Demand

Consumption of the consumers in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Marketing Strategy

Product. Chicken eggs make up the project's intended product. An excellent

source of protein, mono- and polyunsaturated fats, vitamins, minerals, and other

nutrients may all be found in eggs. Eggs from chickens are important because they

include vitamins and minerals needed for the proper operation of the neurological

system and the brain. Eggs provide every nutrient the body requires to build energy;

therefore, they are a great source of it. Eggs can be used as a raising agent, a binding
agent, a coating agent, a thickening agent, and to improve the nutritional content of

other foods. To attract customers' business and ensure their pleasure, the researchers

emphasize providing high-quality, safe, and safe-for-consumers items. Being simple

to prepare and able to be cooked, eggs are typically consumed by most people,

especially in the morning.

Product Category. Since it falls within the category of meat, poultry, fish,

and eggs, the product that will be sold is classified as food and is therefore an animal

product.

Brand. The brand represents the company's primary logo, and Eggs-

Travagant is personally chose the color maroon for it.

The proposed project's brand logo is presented in Figure 1.

Figure 1

Pricing. The cost of production and the quantity produced will be used to calculate

the product's pricing. The product's cost would be affordable enough to benefit the

customer and the company equally. Product costs, such as direct materials and

utilities, are considered when determining a price. The unit cost will be calculated by

dividing the entire production costs by the quantity produced, and a markup will then

be added. To match the price respondents often paid from the other distributor, the

researchers chose various mark-up percentages in various product sizes. The

Technical study will talk about the daily production capacity.

Place of Distribution. The product distribution occurs throughout the several

barangays of Sibulan, where there are many egg consumers, including public markets

and sari-sari store. All barangays will receive a tray of 30 eggs, although barangays

Poblacion, Boloc-Boloc, Tubtubon, Looc, Maslog, Ajong, Magatas, and sitio

Campaclan would receive the most.

Promotion. The social media platform will be used in conjunction with

brochures as our primary method of product promotion, and it will be distributed one

month prior to the actual day of operations. Basically, the text of our advertisement

contains crucial information about the product, including all of its advantages over

other chicken farms in Sibulan Negros Oriental and all of its compelling perks.

TECHNICAL ASPECT

Process Description

Collecting eggs in the poultry farm

1. Checking each chicken had produced an egg.

2. Next, secure the cage with a yellow cable tie for any chickens that haven't

laid an egg or only lay a small number of eggs.

3. Next, retrieve a reusable tray from the storage area.

4. All the eggs that are generated during 1-3 days should be slowly collected

using the reusable tray.

5.Layer the trays and place them to the side so they are safe.

6.Five layers of the trays should be moved to the inventory room, where the

eggs are sized and listed.

7.Utilizing an egg scale, weigh each egg while examining its quality, place it

on its allocated tray, and pile the eggs by size in accordance with their weight.

8. Last but not least, move all of the trays to a cool room temperature when

inventory is complete to promote a long shelf life.

9. Now that distribution day has arrived, the trays are prepared.

Waste Disposal

One of the most contentious issues in this study is the disposal of chicken

manure. On a farm, cleanliness is essential to prevent any potential poultry diseases

and to lessen, if not completely remove, the bad smell caused by chicken waste. It can

be appropriately disposed of, for example, by mixing it with all the manures and

letting it air dry in the sun. Dried manures are used as fertilizers for the coconut trees

that are situated near the poultry farm. Also, as for non-marketable eggs, the yolk will

be buried to prevent the odor from intensifying.

Labor Requirements

The business will hire two (2) workers for the production system. There will

be two shifts in a day, the two workers will have 8 hours per shift and a delivery man

will work 8 hours per day from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

MANAGEMENT STUDY

Form of Organization

The form of business organization chosen by the proponent is a sole

proprietorship. According to the legislation, this kind of business entity is held by a

single person who is fully in charge of all assets, liable for all debts, and responsible
for all gains and losses. Additionally, it was determined that the sole proprietor was in

charge of all of the company's assets and earnings and was free to mix personal and

commercial assets.

Capitalization

This proposed project will be necessarily funded by the owner, Ms.

Buhanghang. The 100% sum required for this business project will be taken from the

owner's equity account, and this will serve as the company's total beginning capital.

Organizational Structure

According to Figure 11, the manager, who is also the owner of the poultry

farm, resides on the top level, where two (2) recruited employees are in charge of

carrying out the necessary chores for the poultry farm. According to their timetables,

the two employees will perform their duties each day. Additionally, one (1) employee

is tasked with packing the eggs and transporting them to the delivery vehicle so that

they can be delivered to the consumers. This employee is the driver/delivery boy. The

manager or owner of Eggs-travagant, along with the employed staff, will endeavor to

ensure that the customers receive high-quality service and goods.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY

To the Society

It is obvious how important business is to the economy, especially for small

and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). Because they generate income growth,

promote entrepreneurship and innovation, support market expansion and variety,

expand the rate and investment base, and lessen issues associated with poverty, SMEs

are the backbone of our economy in the Philippines. Additionally, by giving jobs to

the nation's expanding workforce, it will aid in the decrease of poverty. As a result,

we may assert that the SME sector, in particular, represents a vital link between the

paradigms of growth-led development policies, which at first glance appear to be

incompatible. As a result, our company decides to run its operations in line with

societal expectations. The company must help with the prompt payment of taxes.

To the Government

Given the small-scale type of poultry farm chosen by the proponent, the

business will acknowledge its role in reducing the country's rapidly rising

unemployment rate. To provide opportunities to those who have not been privileged

enough to obtain a higher 67 education, the company has decided not to require

comprehensive requirements in the two lowest positions in the business.

To the Household
A new egg supplier is coming to town and that's good news for households.

With the new supplier in town, there will be a greater quantity of eggs available at

lower prices. This is great news for families who rely on eggs as a staple in their diet.

The new supplier's presence will benefit households by providing them with access to

affordable eggs. So make sure to stock up on eggs when the new supplier arrives. It's

excellent news for households that a new egg source is moving into the area. More

eggs will be available at cheaper costs now that a new source has arrived in town. For

families who take eggs as a staple food, this is wonderful news. Households will

profit from the new supplier's presence since it will give them access to inexpensive

eggs. So, when the new supply shows up, be sure to stock up on eggs.

To the Business Community

The proposed project is socially desirable and significant because it offers

customers fresh eggs that are not just of the highest quality but also that are

reasonably priced and suit their needs. According to Eggs-travagant, price and quality

have a significant influence on customers' preferences, which was given attention in

the project as it also affects the product's future and acceptability among consumers.

Given that eggs are essential to a greater population's diet and health across the globe,

poultry egg production is a significant and varied component of the industry (Poultry

Farming, 2021). Due to their high protein content, which is beneficial to consumers'

health, eggs are also regarded as one of the healthiest foods. The consumer demand

for eggs will therefore be very high. Additionally, there aren't many chicken farms in

Sibulan, Negros Oriental, therefore this planned project is important since it gives the
local shops a chance to have simple access to their egg supply. This planned initiative

is therefore both highly advised and desirable on a social level.
