 Outline the key points of any progress meetings with the employee.
 Meet with the employee regularly to review progress.

Step 4: Summarize and proceed


 After the allotted timeframe has passed, review progress and decide the next course of action.

Do's: Be prepared, objective, consistent, specific, and factual. Stay calm. Suggest solutions to the issue at
hand. Give the employee a chance to respond. Remember this may be used for legal purposes later on. Make
sure the employee understands the issue and consequences.

Don'ts: Wait, always address issues as soon as possible. Attack the employee's character or personality.
Speak in generalities. Include your opinion or emotional feedback. Leave it open ended or leave room for
interpretation.
