Comparing Two Classes

These pictures describe two classes with different students’ interactions and activities. The
picture on the left, we can see the students in groups and they are facing their work on laptop.
They have four people in one group per table. They seem involve in discussion too since we can
see that some of them are talking with their peers. The way of the students seated are in circle
which make them are able to communicate with the others.

In the right hand picture, we can see students in pairs. They are seated in four rows which
one row consists of two students. Their tables are full with books. They seem watch something at
the front. Probably they watch something on the screen or the whiteboard. There are no students
who talk or make conversation to discuss things.

From both pictures I can assume that the students grouping style can affect the students’
interactions and activities. The classroom which has students in groups look more lively than the
classroom which has students in pairs. We can see that the students are talking with the others
and it seem they are enthusiastic to talk about the subject. Meanwhile, the classroom with
students in pairs seems passive. The form of their seated also does not give them the chance to
discuss about the subject.
