A. TOPIC: Comparing and Contrasting text using Graphic Organizers (Venn Diagram and Compare and
Contrast Table)
B. REFERENCE: English 8 Quarter 2 Module 3
C. MATERIALS: English 8 Module 1, Handouts, PowerPoint Presentation, Laptop, TV, Chalkboard and
Chalk, and Visual Aids.
D. INTEGRATION: Araling Panlipunan, Entrepreneurship, Science

A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Presenting the New Lesson

Title: Spell eat!
Directions:
 The teacher divides the class into five (5) groups.
 The teacher gives chalkboards and chalks in each group.
 The 5 groups pick or choose the main messenger and the main receiver of the spelling word.
 The role of the main messenger is to send the word to their group members, while the role of the
main receiver is to write and spell the word on the chalkboard.
 The box of spell contains five (5) words, and the five main messengers have the opportunity to
pick the spelling words inside the box.
 The teacher gives a cue to the five messengers to pass the spelling words, “1, 2, 3, Spell, spell
eat!” The rule in passing the spelling is only through whispering. If anyone does not follow the
rule automatically disqualified.
 The twist in this part, the last member of the group who whispers the word eats a chocolate bar
first. Afterward, he/she can now pass the word to the main receiver. The rule is to finish eating
the chocolate bar first.
