Prompts Examples

“WH” Questions
“WH” questions are used to ask about often detailed information. We use prompts like “who, when,
how, why, what…” to ask.

Prompts Meaning Examples

Who? ¿Quién? ➔ Who is helping you to learn English?


◆ Andrea is helping me to learn English.

When? ¿Cuándo? ➔ When are you going to the gym?


◆ On Monday.

➔ How are you feeling today?


How? ¿Cómo? ◆ I am feeling good.
➔ How did the dog escape from the house?
◆ The door was left open, so he ran away.

Why? ¿Por qué? ➔ Why is the weather so cold?


◆ Because today is a rainy day.

What? ¿Qué? ➔ What do you do on Thursdays?


◆ On Thursdays I go to school.

➔ Where are you going?


Where? ¿Dónde? / ◆ I’m going to the movie theater.
¿A dónde? ➔ Where are my shoes?
