Comments: The teacher demonstrates a deep understanding of the expectations for
third grade students in regards to ELA standards. The teacher provided a learning
experience that was relevant to something they could all relate (bad weather). The
teacher uses best practices to prepare students by modeling her writing process
before students turn to write on their own.

Comments: The classroom environment was very inviting and students felt
comfortable asking the teacher questions and for guidance throughout the lesson.
The setup of the classroom allows for students to collaborate with each other as well
as being successful in independent tasks. Establishes clear expectations for classroom
rules, routines, and procedures and enforces them consistently and appropriately.
