- Carlos Modesto "Botong" Villaluz Francisco was a most distinguished
practitioner of mural painting for many decades and best known for his
historical pieces.
- His great works include portrayals of the Blood Compact, First Mass at
Limasawa, The Martyrdom of Rizal, Bayanihan, Magpupukot, Fiesta,
Bayanihan sa Bukid, Sandugo, Portrait of Purita, The Invasion of Limahong,
Serenade, and Muslim Betrothal. Some of his murals have suffered big
damage over the years. The "Pageant of Commerce" emerged from several
years of restoration in 2000.
- Cesar Torrente Legaspi was a 20th-century Filipino painter best known for his
Cubist-inspired works and Filipino National Artist.
- His artworks include Magellan and Lapu-Lapu(1962), Ritual(1951) and Chao
Phia River (1980) and many more.
- Victorio Candido Edades was a Filipino painter. He was named a National
Artist in 1976 and history names Victorio Edades as “the father” of Modern
Philippine art.
- His famous artworks are The Sketch, The Artist and the Model, Portrait of the
Professor, Japanese Girl, Mother and Daughter, The Wrestlers and Poinsettia
Girl.
