AS Salah – Conversation with Allah

The Messenger of Allah ‫ ﷺ‬said: "Whoever offers a prayer in which he does not recite Umm
Al-Quran (Al Fatihah), it is deficient, it is deficient, it is deficient, incomplete."

I (Abu As-Sa'ib) said: 'O Abu Hurairah, sometimes I am behind the Imam.' He poked me in the arm
and said: 'Recite it to yourself, O Persian! For I heard the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬say: "Allah
says: "I have divided prayer between Myself and My slave into two halves, and My slave shall have
what he has asked for.'" The Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said: "Recite, for when the slave says: All
the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of all that exists, Allah says: 'My slave has praised Me.'
And when he says: The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Allah says: 'My slave has extolled Me.'
And when he says: The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e.
the Day of Resurrection), Allah says: 'My slave has glorified Me' . And when he says: You (alone)
we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help (for each and everything), He says: 'This is between
Me and My slave, and My slave shall have what he has asked for.' And when he says: 'Guide us to
the straight way, the way of those on whom You have bestowed Your grace, not (the way) of
those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray, He says: 'This is for My slave, and My
slave shall have what he asked for.'“

Stories of Allah’s Rahmah

❖ The man who committed 99 murders

❖ The man who gave water to a thirsty dog! 43
The Last Man to Enter Paradise
Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said: “The last one to enter Paradise will be a man who will walk once, stumble once and be burned by the Fire once.
When he gets past it, he will turn to it and say, ‘Blessed be the One Who has saved me from you. Allaah has given me something that He has not given to the first and
the last.’

A tree will be raised up for him, and he will say, ‘O Lord, bring me closer to this tree so that I might shelter in its shade and drink of its water.’
Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, will say: “O son of Adam, perhaps if I give you that, you will ask Me for something else.”
He will say, ‘No, O Lord,’ and he will promise that he will not ask Him for anything else, and his Lord will excuse him because he has seen something that he cannot help
wanting. So he will be brought near to it and he will shelter in its shade and drink of its water. Then another tree will be raised up for him that is more beautiful than the
first, and he will say: ‘O Lord, bring me closer to this tree so that I might drink of its water and shelter in its shade, and I will not ask You for anything else.’
He will say: “O son of Adam, did you not promise Me that you would not ask Me for anything else?”
He will say: “Perhaps if I bring you near to it, you will ask Me for something else.”
He will promise that he will not ask Him for anything else, and his Lord will excuse him because he has seen something that he cannot help wanting. So he will be
brought near to it and he will shelter in its shade and drink of its water.

Then another tree will be raised up for him at the gate of Paradise that is more beautiful than the first two, and he will say:
‘O Lord, bring me closer to this tree so that I might shelter in its shade and drink of its water, and I will not ask You for anything else.’
He will say: “O son of Adam, did you not promise Me that you would not ask Me for anything else?”
he will say, ‘No, O Lord, I will not ask You for anything else.’

His Lord will excuse him because he has seen something that he cannot help wanting. He will be brought close to it, and when he draws close to it, he will hear the
voices of the people of Paradise and will say,
‘O Lord, admit me therein.’
He will say: “O son of Adam, what will make you stop asking? Will it please you if I give you the world and as much again?”
He will say: ‘O Lord, are You making fun of me when You are the Lord of the Worlds?’”

Ibn Mas’ood smiled and said: ‘Why don’t you ask me why I am smiling?’
They said: ‘Why are you smiling?’
He said: ‘This is how the Messenger of Allaah (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) smiled and they said: Why are you smiling, O Messenger of Allaah? He said:
“Because the Lord of the Worlds will smile when he says, ‘are You making fun of me when You are the Lord of the Worlds?’ and will say:
“I am not making fun of you, but I am Able to do whatever I will.”

“The angel on the left-hand side (who records sins) holds up his
pen (refrains from writing down) for six hours after a Muslim
commits a sin. If the person regrets it and asks Allah for
forgiveness, he casts it aside (does not write it down); otherwise,
it is written down as one (bad deed).”
Shaykh Al-Albaani classified it as Hasan in Saheeh Al-Jaami’
As-Sagheer, and he quoted it in As-Silsilah As-Saheehah.

45
Recording of Good and Bad Deeds!
“Whosoever intended to perform a good deed, but did not do it, then Allah
writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he intended
to perform it and then did perform it, then Allah writes it down with Himself
as from ten good deeds up to seven hundred times, up to many times
multiplied. And if he intended to perform an evil deed, but did not do it,
then Allah writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he
intended it [i.e., the evil deed] and then performed it, then Allah writes it
down as one evil deed.” [Al-Bukhari]

Angels do not write down the sins for 6 hours!
At-Tabaraani in Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab
Al-Eemaan reported from Abu Umaamah   that the Prophet   said:
“The angel on the left-hand side (who records sins) holds up his
pen (refrains from writing down) for six hours after a Muslim
commits a sin. If the person regrets it and asks Allah for
forgiveness, he casts it aside (does not write it down); otherwise,
it is written down as one (bad deed).”
Shaykh Al-Albaani classified it as Hasan in Saheeh Al-Jaami’
As-Sagheer, and he quoted it in As-Silsilah As-Saheehah.
