1 Maintenance of the gearing

1.1 Maintenance
The gearing is largely maintenance-free. All gearing is supplied by us filled with oil and
lubricant and ready for use. Check this by carefully loosening the oil outlet screw; oil
should leak immediately.
See Table 1 for the prescribed oil and lubricant filling quantities. A thin film of grease may
form on the shaft and ventilation valve during Initial operation; this is quite normal.

IMPORTANT
The gearing must be installed as prescribed.
Make certain the self-ventilation works perfectly, i.e. coating air inlets and outlets
must be unhindered.

WARNING!
Maintenance and repair Is only allowed by qualified stuff.

1.2 Oil change

The lubricant must be changed after about 10,000 operating hours or three years at the
latest. Open up and clean the gearing and check aJi parts subject to wear ;replace the
shaft sealing rings as a precaution. Clean aJi sealing flanges before re-assembling and re-
seal with a plastic sealant (e.g. DiTko). FiJI with lubricant per Table 1 according to
installation.

WARNING!
Do not touch the rotating shaft in the stuffing box area as this may cause serious
injury to the fingers.

IMPORTANT
Never mix mineral and synthetic oils.

1. Mineral gearing oils are high-quality lubricants permitting service intervals up to 10,000
operating hours.

ImRortant
Never mix synthetic and mineral oils.

5 Maintenance of the driving motor

5.1 Maintenance
The motor is nearly maintenance free. All drivings are filled with lubricant for application.

IMPORTANTI
Pay attention to the perfect self cooling of the air regulation, inlet and outlet of the
coating air must be unhindered.

5.2 Motor bearings

The motor bearings have to be changed usually after 20.000 working hours, but latest
after 3 year working hours.
