PE2 - REFLECTION

The 14th Hayag Festival 2022 Kulturang Kamalayan (kabanata IV),

give me as a student a knowledge from the “Sulyap sa Kulturang Bikolnon” which Dr.
Jovert R. Balunsay bring an excellent performance for presenting the cultures and
traditions of the Bicolanos. The literature in bicol like “ibalong” that very popular and
other different literatures. According to Myth, based on the information the first
Bicolano who wrote and recognized as an inventor of baybayin but badly nothing
from his work left. The ritual of atang which is an offering gratitude for the grace and
good harvest, it is a dance that commanding by balyana. The different form of
literatures in bicol. The ariwaga or proverbs it is the traditional saying that expresses
a perceived truth based on experience for example , “an dilang matarom, kun
nakalugad hararom” in tagalog is “ang dila ng isang taong matabil at walang pero
kung magsalita ng masasakit na salita na maaring makasakit ng loob ng isang tao”.
Paukod or riddle it is a statement or question that have a double meaning for
example, “sira ko sa mariveles sa irarom an kiskis sagot: sili”. The tigsik is a bicol
poem paying tribute in things, animals, people and way of life. Tigsik has a measure,
rhyme, emphasis, witty, and orally. Tigsik are common used in wedding, fiesta and
gatherings. Kundiman, kulintang, sinalampati, panayoknok, tagulaylay, angoy,
abyabi, and kurigrat are the songs in the bicol. I realized that I am a Bicolano but not
knowleadgable enough because I believe that I need more learnings about the
bikolnon. Next is the presentation of Ricky Alintatao Solero which which presenting
the Making Music Together; Why you should join a choir which have an objectives
and goals to encourage people to join a choir. The musical reward which gives an
opportunity to sing a varsity songs from different styles and cultures and we will learn
to read music. Singing is an excellent stress reliever not for a singer but from all of
us. The advantage singing is it boosts the amount of oxygen in the blood, increases
the energy levels, and works out a range of muscles in the upper body. The speaker
play a video performance from the students and choirs to share the different style
and genre to help the participants to use in the contests to smooth delivery of
message and emotion. Singing is not like a competition you need to be a singer and
also a listener and don’t use a force or tension instead singing less and accept the
feedback from your audience to apply it in your voice. The technique for proper
singing and appropriate genre for your voice to avoid squeeze. I realized that it was
important for us to know how to read the music because it was a compliment and big
advantage to others in finding a work. The 14th Hayag Festival showcase the talents
of the students to boost their confidence and ability to make and do more. I expect a
lot from the speakers and still influence the students to enjoy while learning. Share
their experience to widen our knowledge , inspire and have a progression.
