VERB ‘’TO BE’’

Tots els verbs en anglès comencen amb la preposició TO. Així doncs,
per expressar la forma infinitiva del verb direm TO + qualsevol verb: TO
play, TO be, TO sing, TO dance, TO fly etcètera.

En català aquesta forma d’infinitiu és afegint –AR / -ER o – RE / - IR

al final del verb dependentment de la seva conjugació: JUGAR (To play),
ESCRIURE (To write), SENTIR (To hear) etcètera.

** En anglès no existeixen conjugacions, per això que per aconseguir

la forma infinitiva del verb, afegirem TO al davant del verb que volem. **

El TO BE vol dir ser o estar i és un verb bàsic per entendre la

gramàtica anglesa; així doncs, hem d’entendre’l correctament per poder
entendre la gramàtica més difícil.

Com tots els verbs en anglès, té tres formes:

AFFIRMATIVE

Així doncs, amb aquest verb podem crear una gran possibilitat
d’oracions:

I am tall = Jo sóc alt.

You are nice = (Tu) Ets amable.

He is at school = Ell està a l’escola.

She is not friendly = Ella no és simpatica.

Are they at home? = Estan a casa (ells)?

It is nice! = Això és bonic!

Is she in love? = Està enamorada (ella)?

I am really happy! = (Jo) Estic molt content!

My mum (She) is exhausted = La meva mare està agotada.

My uncles (They) are walking = Els meus oncles estan passejant.

My brother (He) is playing = El meu germà està jugant.

My cat (It) is small = El meu gat és petit.

Are your friends (They) on town? = Estan els teus amics al poble?

Is your dog (it) brown? = És de color marró el teu gos?
