Mounting Requirements
General screw General nail
1. If the screw is to be mounted at an angle other than perpendicular to the [PDF_PAGE3_HEADING1_LABEL14]
material surface make sure that screw axis is parallel to the load direction.
2. Loads do not apply for nailing into the end grain
3. Possible predrilling shall not be greater than 0,8d.
2. Some deviation from EC5 regarding predrilling may occur. This is based on
testing where predrilling sometimes has managed to be avoided.
Product specific
Under head milling nibs for optimized countersunk of the screw head. Friction
part and antifriction coating reduces the insertion resistance. Lower torque
and faster installation when screwed in. Patented milling thread point ensures
low splitting e
General
1. Calculations are based on EN 199511:2004+A2014 section 8.1 to 8.7
2. Calculated loads are based on using dry wood
3. When inserting the fasteners, chapter 10 in EC5 shall be applied in order
for the result in the Solid Wood software to be applicable
4. Possible further controls may be necessary. Example of such controls may
be...
Risk of splitting caused by tension forces (Section 8.1.4 of EC5)
Alternating internal forces (section 8.1.5 of EC5)
Shear plug failure
Quality control of installation
Capacity of steel plate when calculating Steel Wood
...etc.
