SUBJECT : Spot Report: stabbing incident
DATE : October 8, 2022

1. Please be informed that at about 7:30 AM of October 8, 2022, a stabbing incident

transpired along Kalbo St., Brgy. Bumbay, Aparri, Cagayan. One Pedro Penduko y
Magtanggol Jr., 25 years old (DOB: February 26,1997), single, college graduate, laborer, a
resident of the said place, witnessed the incident and immediately reported to this office via
phone call about the said incident. Victim was identified as Jackie Chan y Dinakailag, 27 years
old (DOB: March 8, 1996), married, college graduate, private driver, a resident of the same
place, who was stabbed at the back twice by suspect Junjun Awatukwartu also a resident of the
same place.

2. Accordingly, prior to the incident, on the morning of October 6, 2022, above named
suspect and witness, who are neighbors, were having a conversation in front of their house when
suddenly the above-named victim, also their neighbor, came and confronted the suspect about an
unpaid debt which he owes the victim. The two had a heated altercation where the victim told the
suspect that he would sue him if he fails to pay until next week. After the argument, the two
shook hands before victim headed home. Junjun Awatukwartu (suspect), had another
conversation with Pedro Penduko (witness) and while venting out anger, starred at his sharpened
knife, and told the latter that he will kill Jackie Chan (victim) for making him feel humiliated. On
the following day, the suspect confided to the witness that he could have killed the victim that
night if only he had seen him. On Saturday morning of October 8, 2022, at about 7:30, suspect
armed himself with a knife and proceeded in front of victim’s house where he saw the witness
and the victim having a conversation. Seeing this as an opportunity to kill the victim, suspect
approached the two and stabbed the victim, who had his back against him, twice with the knife
which thereafter he dropped then ran away. Pedro Penduko who witnessed the incident called the
police immediately for help. Victim, who was dead on the spot, was brought to Charles W. Selby
Hospital at Punta, Aparri, Cagayan where his death was confirmed by the attending physician.
