Aarong is BRAC's leading social enterprise and a popular lifestyle retail brand in Bangladesh.
Arong is one of the biggest clothing brand in Bangladesh specializing in Bengali ethnic wear and
handicraft. Arong is one of the successesful brand. Aaron is committed to embracing the
country's culture and heritage with a high standard of quality and craftsmanship, and creating its
own fashionable clothes. The word Aaron means "village festival" in Bengali. It consists of 22
outlets (21 physical stores and 1 online store) and sells handmade products made by more than
65,000 craftsmen nationwide. Aarong is a team of over 3800 employees. Arong has honoures by
achieving award from UNESCO as a treadmark of excellence handicraft.

In 1976, BRAC organized a women's group in Manikganji and Jamalpur to train on the breeding
of silk moths and the production of handmade products such as prints, embroidered pillowcases
and bedspreads. And we started to supply these products to our stores in Dhaka. BRAC quickly
realized that these shops did not pay for these products at the time of delivery, but only after they
were sold. It took these women months to pay for the goods. At that point, BRAC decided to
open its own retail store, and in 1978 the first Aaron store opened on Milpool Road in
Dhanmondi, taking the risk and responsibility for inventory financing and sales. " BRAC Senior

to silk and cotton fabrics. With a robust distribution network and vast selection of creative
products, Aarong has established itself as a household name in Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi
handicraft market is continuing to grow outside of Bangladesh thanks to its fair trade network
and internet stores, allowing artisans additional opportunity to safeguard their traditional crafts
and means of support.

In the last few decades, Aaron has grown exponentially and has become a popular name among
urban consumers in Bangladesh. Initially it started with a few product lines, but now it offers a
variety of products and regularly adds categories. Aaron not only played a pioneering role in
developing, promoting and protecting the rich heritage of Bangladeshi handicrafts such as
Nakshi Kanta and Jamdani, but also an indelible mark on the Bangladeshi fashion industry.
Aarong has an absolute competitive advantage. They don't have big competitor in market. And
now a days Arong has managed to gain a different trust with people.
