Locomotor Movements
Jump
Crawling is a slow creeping way of locomotion in which individuals move forward while
their weight is supported by their hands (or forearms) and knees. It is an infant's primary
means of movement and the first locomotor skill that youngsters learn.
• Step 1: Put yourself down on hands and knees in an "all-
fours" position.
• Step 2: Knees should be lined up under hips, and the stance
should not be too wide.The core is engaged, the back is not too
arched, and the tummy is not too rounded.
• Step 3: Equally utilizes both sides of the body; balances your
weight on hands and knees.
• Step 4: One knee advances at a time; knees do not move
together.
• Step 5: The body moves reciprocally and symmetrically;
move one arm and the opposite knee forward at the same
time.
