ACTIVITY 4.1: METHODS OF JOB HUNTING

For this activity, all you must do is answer the following questions in 3-5 sentences.
Write your answers based on your own opinion and in your own words.

1. Where would you start looking for a job?

First, I will roam around here in Zamboanga city to find a company that will accept me
and they know how much potential that I have. If that doesn’t work out then I will go
to other places to get some experience. After I have an ample experience then I will try
to apply to work abroad.

2. Aside from the methods discussed during the discussion, what are other methods of
finding a job?
Use the advantages of social media. Social media nowadays are very rampant, use it to
your advantage to find different agencies that will be suitable and showcase your
capabilities so that different companies will notice you. But be careful not to give too
much information because social media is a dangerous place.

3. Which of the job-hunting methods mentioned during the lesson discussion is the most
effective in the job application process?
For me the most effective method is cold calling method. Because unlike going to a on
campus job fair, here the company can focus on what can you bring on the table as
supposed to in a job fair where there will be a lot of you to be taken care of. And they
might not see the things can you offer.
4. Which of these methods would you consider using?
First I will try to join job fairs and see what luck I have and if that doesn’t work out I
will personally contact the company so that I will be assured that they will get to know
me more. I prefer cold calling because you can call different companies so that you
will have higher chance on landing a job.
ACTIVITY 4.2: JOB ADVERTISEMENT
For this activity, you will have to search for a detailed, well-structured job advertisement
that fits your skills, qualifications, and preferences, preferably, a job position that you
would wish to apply for in the future or your “dream job.” Download or take a photo or
screen shot of the chosen job ad and afterwards, label the details following the format illustrated below.
