2.3 Explain the Importance of Creativity and Innovation

It improves the business problem solving ability. With the help of creativity and Innovation, we
can create and produce new product(s) and improve it.

Instead of focusing on just one flavor, there should be a variety to make it diverse so customers
can have choices and potentially buy from us. Additionally, the group introduced polvoron in a
jar because the type of packaging is not common in polvoron making.

Registering your idea to the office of Intellectual Property in the Philippines may take anywhere
from 18 to 24 months because the process takes five steps:

1. Filing – Filing means any filing required to be made with any Government Entity or
Internet domain name register in respect of Intellectual Property.
2. Examination- is the process where the idea is being tested if it is qualified or not.
3. Publication in E-Gazette- this is what the government uses for publication of acts and
bills, regulations and notices in terms of acts, changes of names, company registrations
and deregistrations, financial statements, land restitution notices, liquor licence
applications and transport permits.
4. Opposition- is the procedure where a third party may formally object to an application for
registration of a trade mark.
