INTRODUCTION

For my project, I choose marker pen for my engineering drawing project.

Marker pen is usually used for draw or write on the paper or whiteboard. Many
people use marker pen for teach on the whiteboard. The unique of my project is
the marker cap. The product contains the cap and the body of marker.

Functions;
A permanent marker or indelible marker is a type of marker pen that is used to
create permanent or semi-permanent writing on an object. In general, the ink
comprises a main carrier solvent, a glyceride, a pyrrolidone, a resin and a
colorant, making it water resistant.

Measurement method;
✓ By using ruler, I convert cm to mm and the measurement is double the
length

TECHNICAL SKETCHING;
The technical sketches is made with a paper,pencil,ruler and an idea, while
the advances of technical drawing is follow the specific technique guidelines
that employ the use of tools, such as isometric graph paper and the aid of
computer.

Project drawings;
Project drawing is essential for communicating ideas in industry and
engineering. To make the drawings easier to understand, people use familiar
symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles,
and page layout. Together, such conventions constitute a visual language and
help to ensure that the drawing is unambiguous and relatively easy to
understand. Many of the symbols and principles of technical drawing are
codified in an international standard called ISO 128.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION

What is the different between Mechanical Drawing and Sketching?

✓ An engineering drawing is intended to be a precise representation and is drawn

at a specific scale with dimensions located to show the exact distance between
points. It can show sections cut through a part, assembly or structure, or
complex assemblies with many parts, and even assemblies with parts separated,
called an exploded view. A sketch is usually quickly drawn by hand on paper,
intended to show the approximate shape or appearance of a part, machine or
structure. It could show a view perpendicular to the top, front or side, or a view
from any angle. It might include some dimensions, but it’s not intended to be
precise.

Why are standards so important for members of the engineering design team?

✓ As with any communication method, standards provide a common method of

communication between members of the team and other engineering teams
which may be involved in the design process. The American National Standard
Drafting Manual - Y14, provides the generally accepted standards in the US.
What is the most important new tool used by drafters?

➢ Drawing Board
o The large surface of a drawing board gives the architect enough
workspace to design and draw precisely and accurately.

➢ T-square
o To be more precise, a T-square is a straightedge, which is attached to
the sides of the drawing board, allowing the architect to draw horizontal
parallel lines flawlessly.

➢ Ruler
o Measuring is one of the most important aspects of drafting. One wrong
move, and the entire project could be ruined.

➢ Pencils
o Graphite pencils provide architects with options with different hardness,
with which they can manipulate the dark and light in the form of shade
and shadow.

➢ Eraser
o Just like pencils play an important role in the sketching process of
drafting, erasers are also a game changer

Objective Achievement
➢ I can draw component of marker pen especially the cap in AutoCAD® 2021.All
drawings have been drawn in AutoCAD® an in this case version 2021 since is
new and easy. I can understand the functions of marker pen. I also can measure
and evaluate a student’s skills in using AutoCAD®. I also learnt how to use
AutoCAD. Thus, this project makes me evaluate how to use AutoCAD as one of
evolution require.

Advantages of CAD Compared to Conventional Engineering
Drawing
➢ CAD can be easily saved on a drafting computer on a drafting computer server
and can be accessed from anywhere without internet connection. The chance of
losing the documents is more in a manual draft. CAD Drawings saved
electronically and it also an environment friendly method. AutoCAD
automatically creating 3D view and helps the visualization process. Then, CAD
can make you do action with revisions by mirroring, hauling, rotating,scalling and
others. In AutoCAD data describing a component is associative, and hence revisions are
automatically made to all places the data is used CAD also can make you get specific
parameters that lead to improved accuracy in this project.

What must to practice in order to produce a neat, accurate

and legible drawing?
➢ Check the brief (a lot – and at all stages of the drawing process).
➢ Check your measurements.
➢ Check your spelling.
➢ Leave no questions unanswered.
➢ Leave nothing for someone else to sort out or work out later.
➢ If an extra hour spent checking the drawing pushes you over budget, it is still
worth
➢ doing to ensure that no mistakes leave your office.
➢ Don’t make the same mistake twice.
