Rashae has extensive experience leading diverse groups and communicating cross-culturally through her volunteer work. This includes leading missionary peers in Chile, founding and organizing events for a student group in the US, increasing awareness of community events for various ethnic groups through an immigrant aid organization, and working as a Spanish interpreter providing legal and medical aid in detention centers and clinics in Texas and Guatemala. She implemented optimized procedures, drafted legal documents, and assisted over 150 patients per day while interpreting. Rashae also lived in South America and Puerto Rico, where she taught Spanish classes and volunteered, maintaining her language and cultural skills.

responsive ways with a diverse the Public Sector and changing workforce and society at large Volunteer Work in the Public Sector 2017-2018: Volunteer Service Missionary in Antofagasta, Chile • This provided experience leading peers of the same age in a foreign country speaking a foreign language. Gained experience leading meetings, providing constructive feedback, and solving problems. 2019-2021: Communications and Advertising Counselor for Their Story is Our Story (BYU Chapter) • Rashae helped start and found the first chapter of TSOS at BYU. She was involved in designing flyers for monthly events and presenting information to 200+ students. She organized and hosted events for 50+ students. 2019: Intern for International Rescue Committee • Rashae Planned and hosted events for 10+ ethnic groups and aided 42+ families weekly by organizing community gatherings. She increased event awareness by corresponding with 20+ organizations to arrange advertising efforts. 2019: Spanish Interpreter for the Dilley Pro Bono Project at the Women and Children Detention Center in Texas
Rashae worked helping women and children gain asylum in
the United States. She implemented and optimized legal procedure for interview processes, wrote and drafted CPI cases and court declarations for impending interviews. This was completed in 60+ hours over 5 days working with attorneys/clients researching/analyzing material in intense environment.

are images of Rashae’s lawyer team and fellow interpreter. 2020-2021: Spanish Interpreter and Group Coordinator for Humanitize Expeditions in Guatemala • Rashae assisted in procuring and distributing donations, materials, and medical equipment. She was in Guatemala, for 5 days, interpreting medical appointments for up to 80 patients a day. As part of the experience, she improved resources by translating and creating necessary documents explaining critical medical procedures. Life Experience In addition to volunteer experience, Rashae’s life experience has given her opportunities to grow in knowledge and ability to communicate and interact in culturally responsive ways with a diverse and changing workforce and society at large. Rashae has had the opportunity to not only live in South America but Puerto Rico for 8 months in 2022 where she taught classes in Spanish bimonthly at a local church and volunteered at a couple of nonprofits. She has continued to maintain her language and communication skills through friendships and work experience.
