Dear Employer at Environmental Voter Project,

I am writing to express interest in the Campaign Associate position with your organization. In
May of 2021, I graduated with a double major in Global Studies and Anthropology and with a
minor in Spanish from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. My goal with my studies was to
better understand human beings and how we relate to our environment, so as to build a more
sustainable and peaceful relationship between the two. I have spent the last four years discussing,
analyzing, and writing about topics related to this.

An essential part of my studies was analyzing global structures, human culture, and social
dynamics, and this gave me deeper understandings of people and the dynamics we live in. These
understandings help my awareness in different spaces which I believe is useful when
communicating and creating connection between people and systems which relates to the voting
process. Understanding these dynamics also contributes to my understanding of the importance
in incorporating diversity, equity, and justice in any work I will do as well.

I also have experience working for two environmental organizations at my university, the Office
of Sustainability and the Energy Transition Lab, and a start up environmental nonprofit as well,
The Green Neighbor Challenge. My work with these organizations has extended from doing
work with grant proposals to writing for a website to a variety of research related projects.
Through these experiences I have learned to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, take my
own initiative, and work with a variety of people from environmental scientists to graduate
students towards goals bigger than any one of us.

Overall, I care deeply about connecting people to ways to protect the environment, and voting is
a large way in which people can connect to this. I would hope to bring a passionate and hard-
working spirit to the Campaign Associate role, so I can support The Environmental Voter Project.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application and consider me as a candidate for this
position!

Best Regards,

Mattie Kujawski
