Klitih

Lately, there has been a lot of news about klitih circulating on social media, such as
on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter.Klitih (keliling golek getih) is a gang of motorbikes
who go around harming other people with the aim of getting recognition from other
people. This motorcycle gang is carried out by several people who are generally
classified as underage. Klitih usually occurs in the Yogyakarta and surrounding areas.
But lately, klitih has spread to other areas, for example, Semarang.

Klitih can be caused because the perpetrator's family relationship is less harmonious.
It can be due to domestic violence, lack of love from parents, and economic
conditions in the family.As a result, the psychological condition of the perpetrators
of the klitih was disrupted. So they took it out by injuring and even killing other
people.

The punishment for klitih perpetrators can be subject to multiple articles. The
articles for klitih perpetrators include article 315 of the Criminal Code concerning
persecution. Abuses committed by klitih perpetrators can be in the form of hitting or
attacking using sharp objects causing the victim to be injured. Klitih perpetrators can
also be subject to Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder. The
perpetrator of Klitih can be charged with the murder article because the abuse
committed by the perpetrator caused someone to lose their life.

Apart from that, Article 340 of the Criminal Code, which deals with premeditated
murder, can be imposed on the perpetrators of Klitih, because when they carried out
the abuse that led to death, the perpetrators of Klitih had already made
preparations. And it can be subject to Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding
beatings, because the perpetrators of klitih consist of several people, it can be 3 -6
people. These articles can be a reference so that punishment for the perpetrators of
klitih can be followed up.

However, the punishment given to the perpetrators of klitih must also be in


accordance with the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA). This is because the
perpetrators of klitih are played by teenagers aged 17-18 years or are underage,
which is regulated in Law number 11 of 2011. According to the SPPA Law, there are
two sanctions, namely crime and action. Criminal sanctions are in the form of
warnings, this is in accordance with Article 71 of the SPPA Law.While the action
sanctions are in the form of being returned to the parents or handed over to the
LPKS.

However, the sanction for the perpetrators of Klitih can also be in the form of
imprisonment with certain conditions/categories. The condition is to commit a crime
with a threat of more than 7 years.Because Klitih is included in the category of
serious crimes.
