Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to provide a content and contextual analysis of the critically reviewed

primary source entitled Customs of the Tagalogs by Juan de Placensia. The analysis of the provided

material was mainly based on the researched information. This paper provides the author’s biography,

information about the historical event, and its importance. Various issues like; biases, and intentions will

be discussed. In seeking of reliable information regarding the provided topic, data from several sources

were used. The gathered information that will be included on this paper depended on the provision of

accessible data. All the sources have been investigated by doing a precise analysis and criticism and was

cited and referenced. Through this paper, the author contributes to the analysis of Juan de Placensia’s

document.
