Dressed in a Royal Stewart Hunting Tartan kilt, Charles greeted crowds outside the
museum in Pollok Country Park where local nursery children presented him with an
autumnal wreath.
The monarch then toured the museum's collection, including Auguste Rodin's The
Thinker.
His late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, first opened The Burrell in October 1983.
It became internationally renowned for its vast collection of international art and
antiquities.
It has 9,000 objects from the personal collection of shipping merchant Sir William
Burrell, which were gifted to the city of Glasgow.
According to the BBC, the museum’s refurbishment cost around £68.25 million.
