Phase 2: The story of our friendship


INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE
In the phase two of this project, your group will write one letter under the title "The experience of our friendship". This letter should have
three paragraphs with the following information: The introduction of each one of the pen pals and
information about their hometowns.
Then, the activities done to learn English together and some tips to be a pen pal. Finally, you will have to include information about
England in order to have the privilege of traveling there.

Videoconferences: Participate in the online lessons in which your tutor will explain the second phase of the project and the main
characteristics of a well-written letter and and topics related with the grammar you have to use during the
second phase. Also during
these lessons, you will identify your strengths and weaknesses related with the English skills and correct your mistakes. 

Task 1: Forum "The story of our friendship"


Participate in the forum "The story of our friendship" with three individual posts as indicated.

Task 2: Create a letter under the title "The story of our friendship"
Now that you know how to write a letter, it is time to gather ideas, work together and create one about your experience while being a pen
pal during these six months. For that reason, you should first download the "The story of our friendship - example” document and use it
as an example to structure your text. Please, pretend that one of the pen pals is narrating the experience. You must use the Past Simple,
Present Perfect and future structures in your letter. Then, it is necessary to include
in your letter the following aspects:

Paragraph 1: Introduce each one of your partners (names and nationalities), write some facts about your hometowns and describe the
reasons why being a pen pal is a good experience.
Paragraph 2:  Name some tips to keep in touch with a pen pal, write about some of the activities done to practice English and how your
English has improved. 
Paragraph 3: Write relevant information about England, its “cultural faux pas” and the places you will visit if you win the challenge.

Task 3: Present an oral presentation where you talk about your experience being a pen pal
Student 1: Introduce the pen pals and give general information about the countries.
Student 2: Say the activities done to improve English and the Experience being a pen pal.
Student 3: Talk about England.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION


Create the letter "the experience of our friendship" using Word. Save and upload your document as a Word file for the tutor to check and
correct it. It must have only three paragraphs (5-10 lines each) with the structure and content indicated
before. Make sure you checked
English Language use (Grammar and Vocabulary). Choose only one member of the group to upload the Word file before the deadline
(PDFs are not allowed). All the group must participate during the videoconference
where the oral presentation will be evaluated.

TUTOR'S ROLE
The tutor will answer any question you have about the phase 2 of the project through the communication tools of the virtual classroom.
In the videoconferences, he/she will explain the main characteristics of a well-written letter, and will
give you feedback about the forum
entries. He/she will also moderate the forum and your interventions. Additionally, the tutor will grade the letter and the oral presentation,
using the criteria in the evaluation rubric.
