Essay.
1. So far, typewriters are almost forgotten, especially nowadays. People tend to be too
dependent on technological advances. In fact, typewriters are replaced by printers
which leads this product to be in decline stage. Its sales are falling and the product is
losing its appeal. There are actually no visible advertisements promoting typewriters.
We barely see anyone who uses typewriters because printers are more preferable than
this. In conclusion, typewriters are in decline stage of product life cycle.
2. Foot baths are actually common products that could be seen in one’s home. It was
already used long ago. In today’s time, there are various companies that produce this
product and competition for its sales has become intense. Its sales also increased
slowly compared to how it was before. Overall, foot bath belongs to maturity stage of
product life cycle.
3. There are new features created for television in connection with internet, so watchers
could watch online with the use of their television. Betamax Player is being replaced by
TV Plus and Smart TV, which has put its product life cycle into a decline stage. We do
not often see someone who uses Betamax player nowadays, and honestly, there is a
chance that its production will suddenly stop in the future. Unless, improvements and
new features for Betamax players are launched.
4. Disposable Surgical Face Mask is in the growth stage of product life cycle. It is
because the use of face masks is too evident, especially during pandemic, as it protects
the body from exposure to virus and infections. Sales of this product are growing rapidly
since everyone is required to wear it whenever they have to interact with other people or
go outside their homes. It has almost become a basic needs in our lives. These are
some of the reasons on why it is considered to be in growth stage.
5. In order to easily adapt to the changes in our environment, everyone must be
technologically-literate. Floppy disks are one of the products that people living in
technological world should be aware of. They are often used in computer software such
as installation of Microsoft Word and other computer functions. Turns out, floppy disks
are still in a growth stage because their profits have started to come in and their sales
have rapidly started to grow. Floppy disks were actually developed during the 1900's,
and their production nowadays has become large and more advanced. Despite its long
history, this product is still profitable and there are some advertisements regarding its
production.
