About me
 My name is Àurea Cartanya Hueso, daughter of math teacher and chemist. I was born in 1993 in a town
close to Barcelona. Currently I’m research associate in the Unitat predeparamental de medicina in the Uni-
versitat Jaume I.
After high school, I studied the Bachelor of statistics and then I continued my educational training studying
a Master of Statistics and Operation Research with the specialization in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.
Both Bachelor and Master were conducted jointly in Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica
de Catalunya. Recently I’va finished my Phd candidate in Health Sciences for Universitat Internacional de
Catalunya. My PhD candidate research was based on the study of the association between screen time and
health (sleep, diet, weight status, and mental health) among paediatric Spanish population.
Moreover during my period as PhD candidate and lecturer in Universitat Internacional de Catalunya also
taught biostatistics lessons in different degrees of health sciences (medicine, nursing, dentistry, biomedical
sciences and bioengineering) and algebra in the bioengineering degree.
