Invitation for Application for

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING (AME) TRAINING LOAN

On behalf of the TCAA Training Fund Committee, Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority invites

(10 positions)

1.0. BACKGROUND OF THE AUTHORITY

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (the Authority) is established pursuant to the Civil Aviation
Act, Cap. 80. of 2020.The Act mandates the Authority to provide safety, security, and economic
oversight of the civil aviation industry in Tanzania. The regulated services fall in three categories:
air transport services, aeronautical airport services (airside airport operations, ground handling,

provides air navigation services in Tanzania.

2.0. TCAA TRAINING FUND

Subsequent to its establishment, the Authority also established the TCAA Training Fund
pursuant to section 3 (1) of the Civil Aviation (Contribution and Administration of the Training
Fund) Regulations, 2013 as amended in 2016. The main purpose of the Training Fund among
others is to train Tanzanians in aviation specialities such as Pilot and Aircraft Maintenance
Engineering.

3.0. TRAINING INSTITUTION AND DURATION OF THE TRAINING

The training will be offered at Ethiopian Aviation Academy for a period of 22 months starting
from early 2023.

4.0. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE TRAINING LOAN

The applicant must meet the following:
i. She/he must be a Tanzanian;
ii. Be able to communicate thoroughly in both oral and written English;
iii. Must not be older than 25 years at the time of application;
iv. Should possess a high degree of integrity, with a conviction and adaption to a high-risk
industry/environment;
v. Must be a graduate of either of the following: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical
engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automobile Engineering,
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information
Technology, Electronics Science and Communication, Computer Engineering and
Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering
vi. Must possess a GPA of 3.5 and above;
vii. Must be ready to undertake training at a Training Institution as directed by the Authority;
viii. This Training Loan will cover tuition fee which include food, accommodation and
medicals;
ix. There will be no interest paused on the Training Loan;
x.
passed the respective interviews; and
xi.
with the Authority regarding the said loan.

5.0. COSTS TO BE MET BY THE BENEFICIARY

i. meet the cost of travel to and from the training institution

ii. meet the cost of license fees.

6.0. LOAN RECOVERY

The Training Loan will be recovered as follows:
