Planets are spherical large object in space that moves around the

sun in an elliptical motion. It can be classified as Rock, Gas and

DWARF
Dwarf Planets.

Low mass celestial bodies that moves around the sun but
hasn't cleared its neigbhoring orbit. Ex. Pluto and Ceres.

NEPTUNE
Atmosphere of H, He and Methane
gases. Strongest wind in teh solar
system URANUS
Atmosphere of H, He, and Methane
gases
Also known as Jovian Planets. They are
mostly made of hydrogen gas and have
multiple moons and ring systems.

SATURN
GAS
Atmosphere of H, He, and Sufur gas.
Has visible and thick ring.
JUPITER
Atmosphere of H, He and other gases. Has strong
magnetism.
MARS
Atmosphere of Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen and Ar. Rocky
crust and appears red beacause of Iron Oxide.

also known as Terrestrial Planets. Have solid

surface has limited moon.

EARTH
Atmosphere of N, O and Ar. An
atmosphere that sustains life.

VENUS
Atmosphere of Carbon Dioxide,
Nitrogen, and Sulfuric Acid. The
hottest planet.
MERCURY
Atmosphere of O, Na, and H. Can hold thin
atmosphere due to its small gravity.

Mass of the planets can be determined by its gravity and how the
planets moves around the sun and how its satellites moves.

Gravity of the planet helps determine its shape. The higher the size, mass and
its self gravity, it tends to be rounder.

ATMOSPHERI Composition
StruCcture
The distance of the planets to its parent star dicatates the atmospheric structure and
composition. Planets that are closer to sun tends to be more denser and exhibits high
boiling temperature. On the other hand, planets that are away from the sun exhibits icy
or frozen particles.
