What is a Global Teacher?

 Global Teacher manifests intercultural sensitivity and acceptance of difference;

incorporates this knowledge and sensitivity into classroom practice; and,
develops the skills to foster these dispositions, knowledge, and performances in
learners. The teacher models socially responsible action and creates
opportunities for learners to engage in socially responsible action. (Association
of International Educators, 2015)
 Armed with enough skills, appropriate attitude and universal values to teach
students with both time tested as well as modern technologies in any place in the
world.
 Someone who thinks and act both logically and globally with worldwide
perspective, right in the communities where they are situated.

Qualities of a Global Teacher

 Understand how the world are interconnected.
 Recognize that the world has rich variety of life.
 Has the vision of future and sees what the future would be for himself/herself and
their students.
 Know how to accept and adopt other educational system of other countries.
 Must be creative and innovative.
 Must believe and take action for education that will sustain the future.
 Must understand, respect and be tolerant of the diversity of culture.
 Can identify the local impact of global issues.
 Must be able to facilitate digitally-mediated learning.
 Good communication skills.
 Must have dept knowledge.
 Has knowledge of the world.
 Possesses competencies of a professional teachers as embodies in the National
Competencies Based Standard for Teachers.

Characteristics of A Global Teacher

 Possess wider range of Knowledge of the various educational system outside
the country.
 Possesses attitudes and values that are acceptable to multicultural
communities.
