THEMATIC ANALYSIS

• Through this thematic analysis, I was able to look
RESEARCH over previous work that I have done over the course
PROCESS of my degree to pull out themes of my life. I used old
assignments and assessments to review my themes.
AND By reading back over the assignments, I was able to
METHODS catch the common themes and combine them to get
a wholistic view of how I show up in the world.
MY DATA SOURCES

These are the assignments and assessments I will be using to


find common themes.
DATA SOURCES

• Sell Assessments Paper (SAP)- Reflected the results of self assessments


I took
• Personal Interviews (PI)- Interviews of people who know my leadership
in order to gain an outside prospective of how I show up in the world
• Autobiographical Personal Leadership (APL)- Purpose of the paper was
to reflect on past life experience to create a story of my leadership
journey.
• Purpose Statement,Values, Mission, and “Big Moves” (PVMB)- Reflected
on my purpose to develop five year plan and identify future plans
• DISC Personality Assessment (DISC)- personality assessment
DATA SOURCES CON’T

• Management Case Study (MCS)- Purpose was to look over


case study’s to find the ethical flaws in them
• Psychological Contract (PC)- Created a contract based on
my learning styles and how I show up in a group setting for
a team project
• Thrive Paper (TP)- Book report on the book “Thrive” and
my takeaways from it.
MY 10 THEMES

These themes are common threads in in my past work.


PERSONAL GROWTH

• I am able to apply many topics that will show our team how to function
properly and also create a team design that promotes growth. (PC)
• always assessing yourself to see where you can be better for yourself
and those around you (PVMB)
• I am very excited about becoming better each and every day (SAP)
• I am not someone who is stagnant in life, I always want to be striving to
be the best person I can whether that is at work or at home (SAP)
• I like to be the best person I can be and I will do anything to make sure I
achieve whatever goals I set before me. (TP)
• Personal growth very important to me because I am always striving to
become the best I can be. This is a theme I have noticed my whole life
even when I was a child. It permeates my life.
INTERCONNECTEDNESS

• I am excited to collaborate with some new faces (PC)


• This will allow us to all be aligned with a goal and create cohesion within
our team (PC)
• I am a very relational person and find that I make friends with everyone.
(MCS)
• I have a lot of connections to people worldwide. (PVMB)
• I would like to make sure I connect with the people I encounter and learn
more about them on a deeper level than just “how is your day”. (PVMB)
• People mean a lot to me. I want to be around people and learn and connect
with them. Interconnectedness is at the core of what I do.
SERVING OTHERS

• My first big move was to become a driving force for humanitarian


effort within my community (PVMB)
• I will help people in any way possible. I will do this through sharing
my resources and time to get what needs to be done, done. (PVMB)
• I find that I am not necessarily interested in growing personal or
economic gain but rather the advancement of others around me.
(SAP)
• I am passionate about helping others and connecting with them
where they are. (SAP)
• I want to dedicate my life to serving the people around me. I find
that this is a common theme of the way I like to move my life. It
needs to be in a direction that’s helps others.
SPREADING LOVE

• Not only do I love people but I am good with them as


well (SAP)
• I will love all people. I will do this through enhancing my
relational skills as well as my empathy. (PVMB)
• I want to love all people around me (PC)
• When I love people I feel that I am at my best (PC)
• It is not only important for me to be with people but also
to love them unconditionally (TP)
• I think that all people deserve to be loved and I intend on
doing that. I want to make people feel comfortable and
good. This is something I pride myself on.
CREATIVITY

• I am always moving things around to see how the environment


around it responds (PC)
• I really enjoy creating something new and different that is pleasing
to the eye (SAP)
• I strive to understand all new prospectives (PC)
• I thrive on creative energy (TP)
• Aesthetics are very important to me and I work hard to create a
space that fits me best (PVMB)
• Being creative is something that allows us to be free in a way. I
know that I am very visual and being creative allows me to creat
the environment nment I want to be in.
OPEN MINDEDNESS

• I be culturally aware and learn from the different prospectives I will encounter.
(PVMB)

• I will grow my prospective of who people are and learn more about them. (PVMB)

• They allow us to get gain perspective from outside of ourselves to truly gauge on what
we can get better in and what we are better well we are good I already (SAP)

• For me, feedback is a crucial part of my life (PI)

• I think getting perspective outside of yourself is extremely important to understanding


who you truly are (PI)

• Open mindedness is a concept that allows me to see all types of perspectives and
show up in love. It is important that I do not judge or hate just because it is different.
EMPATHY

• I will listen with empathy. (PVMB)


• have a lot of empathy towards people people. (SAP)
• We need to make sure we are interacting with our team with empathy
in mind (PC)
• Empathy will allow our team to be cohesive so we can understand each
other (PC)
• I find it important to try and understand the prospectives of those who
I do not understand (APL)
• Empathy is a concept I recently became obsessed with. With so much
divide and unrest in our culture, we need to listen and understand
others around us.
HONESTY

• building a character that only tells the truth and makes that
known to those around me (PVMB)
• it is ok that I am not always going to know everything (APL)
• Having a good integrity is key to good leadership (APL)
• Telling others the truth is hard but always better than lying
(PC)
• I always make sure I am being very honest with my team
(PC)
• Being honest is so important. We need to show up as leaders
and be real when we do. I find that I crave the real, rawness
of people and being honest is how your get there.
TRYING NEW THINGS

• I love to soak in life and see all it has to offer for me, certainly very
important that I am able to have that space to explore. (SAP)
• I love to see new places and try new things. It gives me joy. (APL)
• I love a new challenge (APL)
• I feel at my best when I am stepping out of my comfort zone. (TP)
• Taking every opportunity you can even if it is uncomfortable is good.
(TP)
• I want to make sure I always am open to new experiences and things.
This is how I can grow as a person. Keeping my eyes open for new
things is very important.
TRAVEL

• I want to travel to different cultures and learn about them


(PVMB)
• Seeing the world is crucial l to my growth. (PVMB)
• Travel is something that allows me to truly feel my best (TP)
• Taking time out if my daily life to see different places is
something I want to continue doing in the future. (TP)
• I would love to travel in my future career (APL)
• I want to keep travel in my life for forever. I would love to be
apart of an organization that allows that mindset.
MY PERSONAL VISION
STATEMENT

I will devote myself to loving and caring for all people of the earth.
• I will love all people. I will do this through enhancing
my relational skills as well as my empathy. I will

• I think this exercise was a great way to find the
important things about myself and put them into action. I
can move forward with a better understanding of how I
want to live my life and how I want to work because I CONCLUSION
have found those common themes in my life.
