Voice over: Isang second generation antihistamine na may brand name na Zyrtec, Virlix at Alnix at generic
name na Cetirizine. Kasama sa pharmacologic class na Piperazine derivatizes at may fast onset within 20
minutes. Maaring magkaron ng side effects katulad ng drowsiness, fatigue, tired feeling, dizziness, dry mouth,
sore throat, cough, nausea, constipation, or headache. Ang mga indications ay Allergic rhinitis, Common colds
- not necessarily , Allergic responds - itchy, watery eyes, Sinusitis, Prevent motion sickness, Sleep aid

Nursing Responsibilities are:

Take at bedtime if possible, to avoid sedation during the day.

If taken during the day, caution the client about safety measures with driving, operating machinery and
ambulating. Sedation usually decreases with repeated doses. - Though Cetirizine has less drowsy effect since
it's a 2nd generation antihistamine. If it is taken during day time, it is preferred to take 2nd generation
antihistamine.

Caution older adults in particular about sedation effects.

Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.

Give with food to decrease gastric distress to avoid rebound acidity.
