Synthesis Project
It is no surprise to people that they talk or write about the things they see or do, what they
feel, and what they think (Bazeman, 2015). Writing puts the writer in contact with other people,
but the social nature of writing goes beyond the people the writer draws upon and thinks about
(Roozen, 2015). Writing is a way for people to express their ideas, thoughts, and emotions with
other people regardless of if they think the same way as you. Writing creates an abundance of
opportunities for people to do many things such as learn, socialize, express themselves, and just
Many people assume that all writing abilities can be learned once and for always.
However, although writing is learned, all writers always have more to learn about writing (Rose,
2015). Writing is constantly evolving so writers must keep adapting to what’s new. Another
thing that keeps evolving is ideologies, and writing creates ideologies and identities (Scott,
2015). Writing is always ideological because discourses and instances of language use do not
exist independently from cultures and their ideologies (Scott, 2015). A further troublesome
corollary is that what we can share with each other through writing is limited by our ability to
represent the world through language and the ability of our readers to make sense of our
representations in ways congruent to our intentions (Bazeman, 2015). That’s why being a good
internal mind-brain interacting with the external environment (Dryer, 2015). Writing takes a lot
of critical thinking. There are so many different layers of writing well. Some of the texts that
contribute to the creation of meaning for both the writers and readers are those that already exist
(Bazeman 2015). Writing can be very challenging at first. It takes a long time to become good at
writing. People must have the opportunity to try, to fail, and learn from those failures as a means
of intellectual growth. To get good at writing it takes practice just like anything else. In the
practice of writing, we develop writing capacities, among the ability to adjust and adapt to
different contexts, purposes, and audiences (Rose, 2015). Writers develop and improve with
practice, time, and among other things reflecting throughout the process (Dryer, 2015).
To sum up, Writing is one of the best ways to create opportunities for so many different
things. It’s a great way to communicate using relatable situations (Bazeman, 2015). It enables
you to create your own identities and ideologies (Scott, 2015). It allows you to constantly learn
as you become more experienced and knowledgeable (Rose, 2015). Writing provides so much
opportunity for anyone to make an impact in whatever they are interested in.
