Mental Health, over the years, has been gaining paramount importance particularly in addressing

trials and tribulations which we are faced with. The primary concerns which this discipline caters to
has evolved in its ways that more recently, it throws light on concepts of (1)Work-Life Balance Post
Covid which include companies who are willing to advocate better work life balance and facilitate it
within the organisations, along with the presence of a mental health professional in all walks of life.
(2) Inclusion of Mental Health under Health Insurance in India has also been a very recent
development. (3) Expansion in telehealth services/ Availability of e-services promotes accessibility
and efficient use of mental health services. (4) Artificial intelligence in Clinical Setting, is something
which is still under trial and research, but its inclusion in practice for the mental health community
will enable Computer based test interpretation and advancements in artificial intelligence (AI)
technologies could improve the future of therapy sessions and mental health diagnoses. (5) LGBTQIA
friendly therapists in practice particularly could aid the community catering to the specific demands
of the client.

This evolution and setting still faces challenges which need to be addressed globally so that therapy
can be made accessible to all and mental health can be treated a priority just as physical health is.
(1) Primarily, internalised stigma continues to be present due to lack of awareness and psycho
education. (2) Lack of a regulatory body for the subject and discipline of Psychology limits the
effectiveness of mental health services being provided. (3) The onset of Covid and Post Covid
lifestyles have brought a rapid change and shift in the ways of functioning in almost all areas. (4)
Provisions to access mental health services for individuals who cannot afford it and require
financial/social support also need to be regulated as and when required. (5) Regulations for therapy
for individuals under the age of 18 or 16 could be revised in order to effectively provide help for
those who may actively seek or require it.

In conclusion, as a field there certain clear limitations and trends that are seen to be followed.
Resolution and implementation of strategies/interventions can facilitate effective functioning within
the framework.
