CLIL MATERIALS

Are the materials appropriate for the students age and stage of learning?

I think the material is quite successful since it allows children to have a vision about what they
are imagining in their minds, in this case, different types of food.

Are the materials collaborative and challenging?

I think the material is quite collaborative since by having illustration images, in this case of food,
children at this stage will have a much clearer vision, since for them the images represented by
means of drawings are much easier to understand.

Are the materials motivating and complete?

I think the material could be complemented a little more by having tangible didactic resources
where the children can touch and appreciate it in a better way, but in any case the material is
quite motivating, since the fact of having images in front of them in which they they can
imagine and interact with this kind of food makes them participate and the class becomes more
dynamic.

Are the materials progressive in subject content, in language, in cognitive demands, in task
demands?

the material presented about healthy foods, being so dynamic through images, becomes quite
understandable for children and at the same time that they are participating and assimilating
what are the types of food and what they are used for, one realizes that the cognitive demand
that they present is adequate in relation to the progress that is taking place with the dynamic
material.

Are the materials supportive? Do they have word banks, language frames and visuals?

Yes, I think the materials are of great support to the teacher, helping the development and
complementing the information provided in class, thus facilitating the teaching and learning
process.

The material stimulates children well in a visual way to easily access information favoring
learning.

Are the materials varied in skills, tasks, and interaction? Are the tasks / instructions easy to
follow?

Yes, there is variety and good interaction, apart from showing healthy foods, the teacher
presents a food pyramid that helps students identify the different types of food. He also
interacts a lot with his students by asking questions, allowing the children to participate, and
doing interactive activities.

The teacher’s instructions are easy to follow, in a clear and simple way the teacher instructs the
students and they do not find any difficulty in following her.

Do they consider the 4C’s?

I think that they do consider the 4Cs (content, communication, cognition, culture), during the
class you can see that cognitive development and thinking skills are promoted, such as
reflective thinking on the subject of healthy food. They are also kept in interaction through
language, there is a progression of knowledge as the class progresses, etc.

Do they match the learning outcomes?

I think so, in the end the students seem to have achieved the expected learning results, thus
coinciding with the objectives of the subject.
