 Introduction

This work is developed in order to know and understand the importance of intellectual
property in Colombia and also to know how to apply it as a facilitating tool in the
development of technological innovation in companies.
Intellectual property is not an end in itself, but a means to an end, improving social welfare
by promoting innovation to generate more efficiency in various sectors of commerce and
daily life.
 Objectives

General
Know the operation of the intellectual property protection system in Colombia

Specific
 Learn about the rights protection systems of creators and holders of intellectual
property in Colombia.
 Identify the entities in charge of regulating intellectual property in Colombia

 establish which office is in charge in Colombia to protect intellectual property and

likewise the costs of the process.
