History of Institute
 Our institute was started in 2005 under the name of
Rayat Bahra College of Law (RBCL) which was
affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala.

 RBGI decided to establish its own University and


ultimately RBCL converted into Rayat Bahra
University School of Law ( 2015 )

Attendance
 USL ensures regular and smooth teaching

 75% attendance is mandatory for the students to


appear in the examination.
Evaluation Criteria
 USL has semester system in which TWO Mid Semester Tests (MSTs) are conducted.

 Each MST is of 30 marks.

 The average of two MST Is calculated.

 In addition to that USL has continuous evaluation systems

[ Quiz – 5 marks, Extempore - 5 marks , seminars/ PR- 10 marks and final Exam

is of 50 marks.]

Special Steps for Generation of Awareness
 To enhance the knowledge and awareness of the students, USL
takes following steps.
Court visit
 Court visits from district court, Punjab and Haryana High court
and Supreme Court to impart practical training and to acquaint
them with procedures followed in courts, application of law and
justice dispensation mechanism
Recreational and educational trip
The student trips were organized for Agra(Fatehpur Sekhri) ,
Kullu Manali, Manikaran Sahib, Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar to
provide recreation and overall personality development
Village campaign
Village visited: Daun Majra, Kharar
Objective: with a vision to provide social orientation to learning
through the mission of providing free legal aid to the masses.
Legal Aid Clinic
The Legal Aid Clinic in USL was Inaugurated by
Mrs. Archana Puri, Honorable District and
Session Judge cum Chairperson, District Legal
Services Authority, Mohali on 29th November,
2016 to provide the Free Legal Aid to the needy
people.

USL has adopted FIVE villages , i.e. Sahauran,


Daun Majra, Ghataur, Radiala and Padiala for
this purpose.
Expert Lectures
 USL every years organizes the experts lectures to boost the
academics atmosphere for the healthy growth of the student.

 Mr Anurag Bacchan Head Dronacharya Institute of Chandigarh


gave expert talk on “Career Guidance and Counseling on 21st
January 2019.

 Hon’ble Mr. Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal , Former Judge


Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh; Presently
President Punjab State Consumer Dispute redressal Commission
Chandigarh’’ delivered expert talk” Consumer Laws in India: New
Trends, on january 17 2019.
Moot court competitions
 The first Moot Court competition was organized on 28-29 March,2015 in which Justice
Vijendra Jain , former Chief Justice , Punjab & Haryana High Court inaugurated the
session and valedictory session was presided over by Justice Mr. M.M. Bedi, Judge ,
Punjab & Haryana High Court, Justice (Dr) Shekhar Dhawan, Judge, Punjab & Haryana
High Court and Justice Darshan Singh, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court.

 2nd National Moot Court competition was held in 26-27 March 2016 in which Justice
Swantantra Kumar, Former Judge, Superme Court, Chairperson, National Green
Tribunal, New Delhi, Justice Dr Shekhar Dhawan, Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court
presided over the inaugural function and valedictory session was presided by Justice
Amitava Roy, Judge, Supreme Court and Justice A.K. Mittal, Judge, Punjab &Haryana
High Court.
Moot court competitions
 The 3rd Moot Court Competition was held from 25-26 March ,
2017 in which Justice Rakesh K. Garg, former Judge, Punjab &
Haryana High Court presided over the inaugural function. Justice
Jasbir Singh, former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and
Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal, former Judge, Punjab &
Haryana High Court presided over the valedictory session .

 The 4th Moot Court Competition was held from 6 – 7 April, 2019
in which Justice Arun Palli, and Justice Harnaresh Singh Gill,
judges of Punjab & Haryana High Court presided over the
inaugural function and Justice Arun Monga and Justice Raj
Shekhar Attri, judges ofPunjab and Haryana High Court
presided over the valedictory session .
Conferences
 National Conference on,”Law and Social
Transformation in india,’’organised by USL on
21st September 2017 which was inaugurated by
Hon’ble justice K.C Puri and Valedictory address
was given by Chief Justice Rajiv Bhalla, former
Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court.

 2nd one day national conference on “Changing


Dimension of law and Justice in Plural Society “
organized by USL on 16th October 2019 in which
eminent scholars participated.
Feedbacks
 So USL have excellent and dedicated faculty with excellent infrastructure and
environment so USL made sincere efforts to establish rapport and faith
between the students and teacher various feedback systems in USL are…
 The committee is constituted at university level .
 The concerned teacher are the part of feedback committee . Some teachers
came from other institutes to take feedback from students of USL

 Overall trophy in Techno- Virsa which held from 03-04 November
2015.
 Our college students won the overall best performance trophy in
MINERVA continuously for three year (2016 till 2018) which is
organized by Rayat Campus Railmajra.

 USL one overall trophy in western vocal group in Techno – Virsa


,21-24 March 2018.

 USL also won Overall trophy in Techno-Virsa in 25-26 March


2019.

 Faculty presented 19 papers in the various regional


and national conferences in 2017-2018
 21 papers were published in national and
international journals in 2018-2019
 30 papers were presented in seminars and
conferences.
 Two books published by 2 faculty members in 2019
Memorandum Of Understanding

University and Prof. Peter Robinson,Managing
Director, Straws institute for Dispute Resolution,
PEPPERDINE University signed an MOU on 25th
may 2016 for academic global exposure of
students.
