“The Use of Social Media as a Persuasive Platform to Facilitate Nutrition and Health

Behavior Change in Young Adults: Web-Based Conversation Study.” Journal of Medical

Internet Research; Toronto, May 2022. Accessed 3 November 2022.

The significance of this article is to evaluate an experiment on the effects social media has on
young adults' health behaviors. It shows that social media can have a great impact on a person's
habits depending on what they see other people doing. It can cause positive or negative effects;
including feelings of encouragement, guilt, or persuasion. For example, if they see their peer
going to the gym and eating healthy this could encourage some to do the same to better
themselves. On the other hand, some people might see someone promoting a lifestyle that
promises image-based results this could cause feelings of guilt and have a negative impact.
While fast food companies paid promotions would persuade people to check it out. Many young
adults can find a healthy lifestyle to be expensive and time-consuming and with the influence of
social media causes bad eating habits. Social media can have misleading advice that can damage
a person's relationship with food. Overall social media can have a significant impact on a
person's health.

Gidakovic, Petar; Koklic, Mateja Kos; Zabkar, Vesna; Zecevic, Mila. “Consumer Confusion

Caused by Nutrition Apps in Product Healthiness Evaluation.” Economic and Business

Review; Ljubljana Vol. 24, lss. 2; 2022. Accessed 4 November 2022.

The significance of this article is to assess the negative effects Nutrition Apps have caused
consumers. Showing negative effects on consumers' attitudes toward healthy foods or a sense of
distrust toward foods. The information is inconsistent between companies; as they are not held to
a standard on how to label products healthiness. This can cause a state of confusion; with the
consumer not knowing which source is correct. Since the only way to get information on the
health of food is through research and resources this can be discouraging when there is no correct
answer clear. The study shows that the perceived healthiness of food is a motivation for
consumers, apps should want a consistent evaluation of the healthiness of food to encourage their
audience.

Imtiyaz, Hena; Soni, Peeyush; Yukongdi, Vimolwan. “Role of Sensory Appeal, Nutritional

Quality, Safety, and Health Determinants on Convenience Food Choice in an Academic

Environment.” Food; Basel Vol. 10, lss. 2; 2021. Accessed 3 November 2022.

The significance of this article is to examine what drives consumers to purchase convenience
food. Through experiments, it is determined that sensory factors such as taste, smell, appearance,
and texture are the main driving forces behind the purchase of convenience foods. The factors
such as busy lifestyles and a lack of cooking skills are other factors that play a role in the
purchase of convenience food. Because of this, there is a pronounced increase in the production
of these foods. The article advises that these companies should have stricter regulations on food
production to ensure the safety of consumers and the environment.
