“The Unique Fruit in Me” “Learning Style Inventory”

A Survey on Learning Characteristics and
Personality Traits

Fruit: Banana Learning Style: Auditory Learning

Preference
1. How did you find the activity? What was the most and least dominant feelings
evoke in you? The activity was fun to do. I was able to know and understand what
represents myself, and I have this positive expectation of the results because, upon
answering the guide questions, I get to know myself little by little. I was happy
because it gave me the chance to think and reflect on who I truly am. This kind of
activity, for me, was indeed helpful. It is much more than just knowing ourselves. It’s
also about reflection. The eagerness I feel to discover more about myself leads to
an awareness of myself that enables me to recognize how other people see me
and to recognize my strengths and weaknesses too. With this, I know it can help me
effectively evaluate and manage my behavior and emotions and understand how
others perceive me.

2. What did you learn about your learning characteristics and personality traits in The
Unique Fruit In Me? What learning preferences did you discover in Learning Style
Inventory? Having my own personal preferences highlighted and being able to
glimpse some of the traits that other people possess can serve as an eye-opener for
me. It can help me to understand my preferences and the preferences of other
people, and how or why these might be different. And I believe that knowing my
personality type can change my life in so many ways. If I can do that, I will be able
to know where I belong and what I need to do to be successful, whether in
academics or in life. I also need to understand my strengths and weaknesses and
learn how I can leverage them to achieve what I want in life. Fortunately, taking a
personality test can help me unravel my strengths and weaknesses. Apart from this, I
got to know that I am an auditory learner, which I think is somehow accurate. I
found myself learning more by listening and hearing. I understand and remember
things I have heard rather than seen. I store information by the way it sounds, and I
have an easier time understanding spoken instructions than written ones. As an
auditory learner, I probably hum or talk to myself or others if I become bored. And
people sometimes think I am not paying attention, even though I may be hearing
and understanding everything being said. It is said that this will help us kids enhance
our critical listening, thinking, and comprehension skills. Thus, auditory learning helps
brainstorm better, improve focus, pay better attention, and have better
comprehension.

3. What were your realizations/insights of your self-discoveries in learning?

I have learned that self-discovery is a fundamental pillar of self-growth. It's a journey
that will take me from being unaware to owning myself, knowing my true potential,
understanding my preferences, style, what motivates me, and more. Besides, it also
includes a greater sense of self-awareness, acceptance, and confidence, as well
as clarity around my life goals and how to achieve them. And sometimes I found
myself feeling highly unmotivated while being stuck inside. But still, self-reflection is
an excellent project to sit down with and find things to get excited about to help
boost productivity. Thus, when we work on ourselves, we get to know ourselves
better, which allows us to deal with certain difficulties in life. Otherwise, life can
become stagnant. Learning about ourselves, including our skills, traits, or
preferences, can bring about changes we never knew were possible.
