min (지민) was born as Park Jimin (박지민) in Busan, South Korea on October 13, 1995.

He’s the lead


vocalist and main dancer of the South Korean group BTS.
Jimin gained interest in dancing since the eighth grade after watching performances by a South
Korean singer and dancer, Rain. To pursue his passion for dancing, he attended Busan High School
of Arts where he was the top student in a modern dance. He also attended Just Dance Academy to
learn popping and locking dance.
At the age of 16, after passing the BigHit Entertainment audition in Busan, Jimin moved to Seoul to
become a trainee and the last member of BTS.
Over the course of his career, Jimin covers various choreographies including contemporary
dance and has the chance to perform solo dances.
Through the years in BTS Jimin also took part in songwriting process. He co-created, among
others, “Lie,” and “친구 (Friends).” He is credited officially as a writer/composer of 6 tracks on Korea
Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
In 2018, Jimin released his first solo song, “약속 (Promise),” for free on SoundCloud. The song
broke record and became the biggest-ever debut for a song on that music platform.
Also in 2018, along with the other members of BTS, he was awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan
Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea for the contribution to Korean culture.
In September 2020, as a part of BTS, Jimin gave speech at the United Nations General
Assembly.
