SCENARIO 2
This scenario is the continuation of scenario 1

Fulan : Assalamualaikum, good afternoon doc.

Doctor : Waalaikumsalam, Welcome, please have a seat
Fulan : Thank you doc
Doctor : Introduce me dr. Thabibah, the doctor on duty at the polyclinic today.
May I know your identity, name, age, address and occupation?
Fulan : My name is Fulan, I am 19 years old, I live in Gonilan, Kartasura, and I am a college student
Doctor : Miss Fulan, what can I help you?
Fulan : I have loose stool about 5 times a day
Doctor: Since when did you feel these complaints?
Fulan : It’s about 2 days ago
Doctor: Can you explain me how was it beginning?
Fulan : When I woke up in the morning, 2 days ago, I felt uncomfortable in my stomach and
experienced a loose stool, but I was still able to go to college as usual. But during the day, it is
continued. And the day before, I ate some food that I bought at a festival in the town square.
Is there anything to do with this doc?
Doctor: Well, it may be related. Is there any other complaints?
Fulan : I also feel that my appetite has decreased, nausea, sometimes vomiting and stomachache, no
energy, and sometime I got fever.
Doctor : What about your previous medical history? Have you experienced something similar before?
Or maybe there is another disease at this time? Or do you have allergies to certain drugs or
foods?
Fulan : I think I've had something similar before, but it's been a long time and it's over. I have no other
disease at this time neither allergies.
Doctor : Okay, if so, what about the family history of the disease? Is there a family who also has similar
complaints or has certain diseases?
Fulan : None of my family has any complaints like me, but my father has a history of hypertension,
while my mother has a history of diabetes.
Doctor: OK. And for your current condition, what about the medical history? Have you taken any
medications, and how did they affect them?
Fulan: I bought some over the counter drugs. I think my loose stools has decrease a bit, but my
stomach is getting more and more uncomfortable. I also still have no appetite, nausea, I got
vomit and sometime I get a fever, and feel weak. Lately I've also been feeling thirsty and have
a headache. Help me doc, is it true that I have an infection?
Doctor : Well, we can said that you’re already got some diarrhea. In my opinion, it was an infectious
diarrhea.
Fulan : Then what should I do, doctor?
Doctor: You need to know, that infectious diarrhea can be caused by various kinds of pathogens, such
as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or other parasites.
Fulan : Ok doc, please give me the medicine doc
Doctor: But first, we need to find out which pathogen is causing your diarrhea, then we can determine
the right therapy for you
