GROW Interactions Prompts

Intro to Coaching
Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires
them to maximize their personal and professional potential (International Coaching
Federation). Coaching is a partnership, process and potential creation.
For coaches to play this role, they have to believe in the following:
1. My coachee is capable of changing.
2. My coachee has choices.
3. My coachee is naturally intelligent.
4. My coachee is unique.
5. My coachee has the power to create his/her future.

There are several frameworks that can be used in coaching. Specifically in this course, the
coaching framework used is the GROW model. The GROW model consists of four parts: Goal,
Reality, Options and Way Forward.

Coaching interactions may be coach-led or coachee led. The difference in the two lies in who
establishes the agenda for the conversation.
