Family Planning Month

Ms. Cherry Baysa, Midwife, speakers from the Family Planning Committee, lectured on the celebration
of the Family Awareness Month to the OPD Patients of SIMC.

PHU Chairperson and UHC Representative, Dra. Ma. Theresa D. Dalmacio, informed the OPD patients
and watchers about the transition of SIMC to being an APEX hospital and the Referral System to be
adopted from the UHC.

To reiterate the campaign of the Department of Health on PINAS LAKAS, the Public Health Unit
Representative (HEPO) Ms. Claire Rowena Callang spoke to the SIMC OPD Watcher’s Class on how to
stop the spread of COVID by getting vaccinated

In celebration of the NATIONAL TB DAY / NATIONAL LUNG MONTH


Mr. Robby Ugalino, MD from the Family and Community Medicine spoke to raise awareness on the
devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) as well as the importance
of to taking care of their lungs and practicing a healthier lifestyle.

SIGHT SAVING MONTH


 This event is in line with the Department of Health’s implementation of the National
Prevention of Blindness; which the aim is for all Filipinos to enjoy the right to clear vision
and eyesight.
 Its advocacy includes educating the citizens of appropriate eye care and the need /
urgency of early diagnosis and management to minimize the risk of impairments and
complications

NATIONAL TB DAY / NATIONAL LUNG MONTH


 It aims to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic
consequences of tuberculosis (TB).
 It also aims to remind citizens the importance of to taking care of their lungs and
practicing a healthier lifestyle.
 To observe and urge people to also contribute to provide a healthier environment to
minimize the exchange of chemicals that results in tuberculosis

NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING AWARENES MONTH


 Promote breastfeeding across different target audiences: community, expectant
mothers and their partners / spouses
 To protect, promote and support breastfeeding practices for a healthier baby.

LINGGO NG KABATAAN/ ADOLESCENT IMMUNIZATION MONTH


 To strengthen immunization services within the primary health care and eventually
contribute to universal health coverage and sustainable development.
 Leave no one behind by expanding equitable protection with vaccination for all ages.
 Reduce mortality and morbidity by proactively preventing outbreaks of VPD’s and
providing timely response to outbreak and other potential health crisis related to
immunization
 Effectively communicate and address hesitancies and misinformation regarding
immunization.

FAMILY PLANNING MONTH


 To educate the citizens on how they can properly achieve their desired family size and
fulfill the reproductive health and rights for all through correct and reliable family
planning information and services.

HOSPITAL WEEK 2022


 To celebrate the hard work, dedication and sacrifices of the healthcare workers to
continuously provide quality service to the patients despite the challenges.
