NARRATIVE/ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

I. OBJECTIVES

The Southern Isabela Medical Center in coordination with XFM 104.9 created a health related/
focused radio program with an objective to:
1. Disseminate information on health – related issues and DOH programs specifically of the
Southern Isabela Medical Center
2. Engage audience members actively in discussion about health-related issues and DOH
programs specifically to Southern Isabela Medical Center
3. Educate listeners and increase their knowledge about health – related issues and programs
from the DOH and specifically of the Southern Isabela Medical Center.

 EXTRA CARE with Dr. Marisol Ugalina (Department of Family and


Community Medicine) and Mr. Mark Alexander Reyes (Department of
Psychology) (Serbisyong Katropa with Mae Barangan)

 The Southern Isabela Medical Center had the objective to be able to reach
even further in disseminating information about the current Department of
Health campaign and Awareness’s for the month of February therefor
cooperating with 104.9 XFm and participating in the Xtra Care: Serbisyong
Katropa with Mae Barangan.

IV. HIGHLIGHTS

 Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis Awareness and Prevention – January 16, 2023
(Thursday) 11:00 – 12:30 pm

Dr. Marisol Ugalino a medical officer III from the Department of Family and Community Medicine
lectured on the current awareness for the month of January 2023: “Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis”
focusing on the important key factors that contribute to the disease and ways to prevent it from spreading
being one of the top 5 morbidity and mortality reasons in the Philippines.

 Depression – January 16, 2023 (Thursday) 11:00 – 12:30 pm

Sir Mark Alexander Reyes a registered psychologist from the Department of Psychology of the Southern
Isabela Medical Center spoke about the importance of acknowledging the increasing number of young
people committing suicides as a result of depression.
