Capabilities of a Computer
1. Speed
• You all will know that the computer is a fast device.
• Fast means that the speed of computer work is fast.
• The computer is far ahead of us humans in terms of speed.
• If a person is taking days to do work, then the computer can do that work in an hour.
• If a person is taking hours to calculate, then the computer can do the same calculation in a
few nanoseconds.
• The computer is capable of 100 million calculations every second.

2. Accuracy
• The computer performs every task with complete accuracy.
• The computer completes any work without fault.
• We humans may be wrong in doing some work, but there may be no mistake in doing any
work from a computer.
• The computer works on the instruction given by the user, if we give the wrong instruction to
the computer, then the computer will also give us the wrong result.
• There is no fault of the computer at that time, it is the fault of the user at that time.
• Because a computer can never make a mistake.

3. Automation
• Automation is also a core part of computer capabilities.
• We use many types of auto machines from our life, the computer is one of them.
• If we give the instruction to the computer to do something, then the computer starts doing
it.
• Then we humans do not have any need, then the computer accomplishes that task alone.
• Automation in simple language means that once the computer is instructed, the computer
performs the work until the computer finishes the work.
• Let us understand this with an example.
• Suppose 100-page print is printed from the computer.
• We once gave the instruction to the computer to print a hundred pages.
• Then there is no need to give instructions to the user, again and again, the computer keeps
printing until the computer prints hundred pages.

• Versatility is also a major part of computer capability.
• Today computer has spread in every field, that is, computer is being used in almost all
industries today.
• Today every company is using computer, such as software company, hardware company

• Today, computers are being used in every school, college and university.
• The computer is so useful that it does everything very easily.

computer is a machine.

• The computer is capable of taking very fast decisions.
• The computer takes any type of decision immediately.
• Computers take two types of decisions.

• The computer is capable of storing data on a very large scale.

• The memory of a computer is very fast.
